Mechanical or vacuum secondaries?
That and setting them can be a pain in the ass BOWHOWDY they suck gas

I've had two big block Fords and two big block Chryslers and the gas they burn through is insane. This will be my first double pumper and also the first time I've had a brand new carb on any of my cars.

With the mechanical secondaries, you can stay out of it whenever you want, keeping the fuel appetite down till you want to 'open 'er up'!

Here's the look I'm going for:

Think I saw that car in Mad Max.

My 1979 small block (360) is around 3825 lbs.
My big block 1975 (400) is around 4200 lbs IIRC.

Keeping the stock grill.
Should be going for that grill MORE THAN ANYTHING.

I'm certainly not opposed to it.

Fixed that for you. It's not a "Hot Rod" - and it's not hard to burn rubber in a heavy-ass car full of rich Corinthian leather (that has a weight distribution scheme like Chrissy Metz) riding on hard-rubber street tires from a Subaru Brat on oil-soaked asphalt roads. C'mon, son...

Ruining hobbies for people like you is my specialty.
BTW Subaru Brats came with 185/70/13s, which is slightly larger than the tire on your unicycle that you ride.

I had a brat in the late 80's - that thing was suprisingly capable and fun.

Indy probably had one like this though:

When I was 10 years old only two vehicles existed as far as I was concerned: General Lee Charger and Subaru Brat.
I knew my parents would never buy a charger and get it painted like the general lee, so I relentlessly begged them to buy a Subaru Brat.
So what did they buy?
A 1981 Ford Econoline van.

That blue Ford must be from the same line of toys as the brat - looks identical!

I must be a cousin... always wanted a Baja!!!
But, I was too late to the party. By the time I learned of the Baja's existence, they had stopped making them. Bought a Saturn instead.
