Ry, you seeing any of this blue-green algae bloom yet? I heard they declared a few counties in a state of emergency because of it...
Re: Humid as hell today
The cyano algae is mostly where they drain the dikes from Lake Okeechobee. I heard Stuart and Port St. Lucie got it pretty bad. So far nothing here, as far as I know. You know, all the complaining about foreign-government subsidized industries, how about the $4 billion/year in U.S. sugar subsidies? Yet, big sugar doesn't want to pay a dime to clean up what they're doing to Lake Okeechobee.

I'm somewhat familiar with it, as I live at the midpoint between the American Crystal Sugar hq and one of their sugar beet processing plants.

watering the garden with city water = fail
especially the part of 3x's the cost for the sewer charge that you aren't even using.

Re: Humid as hell today
i've found a fix for the humidity!
i've just been wearing swimming trunks (with no underwear) around the house and outside. sweat it up and then go inside to take a break in the air conditioner and instead of my ass being cold and itchy for the next 3 hours, i'm dry in like 10 mins. haven't found a shirt that can go toe to toe with swimming trunks so i've been shirtless. maybe i should buy a few swimming trunks and fashion them into a shirt.

We are some inventive mothafuckas around here. Good for you man.
They do some shirts for runners/riders that wick sweat, they’re basically swimsuit material. Maybe that’d work?
75*, 45% RH...got a couple errands to run and then I’m hitting the pool. Fuck alllll this incredibly sweaty bullshit...

Well not for you guys and not for Detroit where I grew up, but when it’s regularly low 80s and 5% humidity, we all start bitching when it gets like this...

It rained last night, and started again this morning; I've actually been thinking about humidity, and how we could use it to produce potable water. Then, last week, I saw something on This Old House, that fits the bill:

It gets very cold here in Minneapolis, but it has some potential.

Holy shit ... You would have to drink a lot of water to make that worth it.

At 4:00 AM when I rolled out of the house this morning it was 73 degrees with 94% humidity. Going to be like yesterday; 90+ and sweltering. Which would be great if it wasn't Monday and I could just float in the pool...
