I missed this post. Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. I definitely want something with it's own great sounds.

I always keep a roll nearby for those mid-session ass wipes.

I really like Native Instruments, Damage, for heavy and unusual percussion. You can play wild drum loops by holding down one key on the controller board.

The only un-fun thing is that, synth software comes with MANUALS!!! :nerd:

Honestly, my last couple of clips have surprised me(not trying to toot my own horn at all). It's shown me that I can get really great sounding tracks INTO my DAW. Then it's up to me to figure out what to do with them. The Torpedo Live has pretty much been a game changer in this respect. Get the sound and levels you want and go. When it's time for another rhythm track, just pan it the other way and pick a different cab. Move the virtual mic and change the sound in the virtual room. Hit record. NEXT.....

It's also just plain fun as hell.

Basically, if Sega'93 NHL Hockey were a perfect tool for recording guitars, it would be this Two Notes peice.

What outs are you using on the TL to your interface?

Mostly I use a 1/4"-XLR adapter and then into my WA-12. XLR out of that into my Audient ID22. I also have the digital/SPDIF setup to go too. So I can send three signals if I want. One through the WA-12 and mic-pre. Then I can split the digital into a wet/dry track so I can get what ever the cab is I am running and also a direct-to-board amp sound.

Bout to low grade the fuck out of this thread.....was cool to see your guys' setups tho.

MIDI keyboard, basically use this for everything from strings to drums to acoustic guitar sims. BTW, Ajax is correct, Damage is badass.

Preamps into cab IRs....work for most things, lately I'm just using Mercuriall's Spark for cabs....I shut everything off and just use one of these into their IRs...you can blend mics and cabs and the IRs are really good. AMT is a 5150 clone, the Hotone is a Recto and the last is a Mooer Engl clone:

Interface...this is a Mackie Blackjack....most of you either own one or have, I see zero reason to upgrade. Was cheap and works.

My go-to anymore....the Mercuriall U530. Engl e530 sim, complete with 2d adjustable mic cabs, chorus, clean, mid gain and lead dirt channels, plus a contour switch for scooping mids, leaving them alone or boosting them. I love this sim more than any other I've tried:

I went from an AxeFxII to a Fryette GP/DI-Avatar cab with a SM57 to this stuff. Low cost, top notch tones (for me, anyway) and easy to use and setup. I'm less than $300 into this setup and can get basically any tone I need, from clean ambient sounds to all out heavy sonic assault. Digging it.

My "studio" with the new, Mackie 3" monitors. What a relief to be able to put the headphones down - wearing cans for 6 hours is not fun.
