Re: Big Baller Brand shoes - Starting at $220!
So the story around the Nike campus (worked there for nearly 12 years) is that they pretty much laughed him out the door. They prepared a pitch to sign Lonzo, pretty straightforward thing that happens on campus.....and he showed up with his 'marketing plan' for this BBB crap, demanding they partner with him. They humored him for a bit, tried to continue with their pitch and then eventually showed him the door. When a Nike exec comes out and says that LaVar Ball is "the worst thing to happen to basketball in the last hundred years", you know you're a fucking cunt.
It kinda reminds me of when Shaq was first coming into the league back in the day. Nike wanted him bad....really BAD. They pulled out all the stops and were prepared to throw serious coin at him. He showed up on campus for the pitch in Adi gear and it pissed the exec's off so much that they gave him a 15 minute pitch and then basically said GTFO and showed him the door. I do respect Shaq's troll game....but it cost him a lot of early money.

Re: Big Baller Brand shoes - Starting at $220!
When I was a kid, I worked at a mall record store. Never have I seen so many vapid, entitled kids try to be something they weren't. Nothing new.
Some guys like a challenge. Not me.

Just focus on the shoddy website with it's random capitalization, poor grammar, and basic qualities not quite fitting for the premium market he wants to tap.

Maybe thats exactly the 21st century market he's trying to reach.

This would be the perfect brand for Fyre Festival II. Somebody call Kendall Jenner.

I was so happy Fyre Fest was a fraudulent failure.

FyreFest
He's definitely trying to market to the FyreFest crowd. The people that "ball" within the constraints of a single paycheck. These are "luxury" items that are within reach of average consumers, assuming they have no concept of a budget or how to live within their means. Things like:
Sunglasses
Cell phones
Shoes
Headphones/wearable electronics
Premium beverages
Video games systems
Luxury clothing
Essentially flashy items that give off the perception that the owner is affluent, but can be purchased with a single paycheck. That's why the sneakerhead market is what it is. That's why every one that works at the mall has an iPhone and Ray Ban sunglasses. People with no concept of financial responsibility have no problem living paycheck to paycheck at their parents' house, and brands such as Big Baller Brand/FyreFest are trying to capture that market.

My favorite part of FyreFest was finding out that most of the attendees were average people that wanted to live the affluent life.
oh and that the organizers are offering 2 VIP passes for FyreFest 2018 to 2017 pass holders in lieu of an actual refund
Because a festival that failed due to having no money will definitely be successful next year by giving away free passes

It's going to be a lot harder to sell BBB playing in New Orleans. They've already dropped the price on Lonzo's current shoe from $495 to $200. His next shoe the Who Dat? will be $89.95 and come with a coupon for a beignet.

One wonders what he would have done with Draelyc's midlife crisis thread.
