...oh, and Telephant definitely hit it on the head with ZZ Top - their stuff from '71 to '81 is fucking incredible

With Clutch I don't really like anything prior to Beale but that still definitely puts them on this list.

Also to continue, Pantera.

Did you eat paint chips as a kid? :cop:

Go listen to Robot Hive / Exodus. By far their best album IMO and filled with B3.

I didn't realize that was prior to Beale. So you're right, I was wrong. That was my ignorance on their discology.

Still Pantera also.

Yea I was only 68% sure and that never really works out for me on a forum with factual fuckers.

See what you should do is take your sureity level from our previous argument, add that to your 68%, divide by 2, then suck meh balls. :cop:

:idk:

I dunno, Metal Magic through I Am The Night is only three albums in three years. Power Metal was still good, but that new Anselmo guy was dragging them down already, and it was curtains from there.

I wonder what ended up happening to those guys, anyway. Darrell and Vinnie Paul were both really good players.

If solo acts count, Bob Dylan. I don't know his whole discology but the guy has never stopped making music and never really repeated himself. Still out there digging in to find new ground.

Also, Beck. Same reasons.

Tool and ZZ Top were the first that came to mind. But I'm throwing the Drive-by Truckers, Rush, and I know I might get some pushback but Radiohead too.

I see Mort just brought up solo acts in which case Prince and Neil Young deserve mention as well.
Wu-Tang is for the children.

Hendrix.

Yes, I count First Rays of the New Rising Sun. South Saturn Delta, no. Not his fault he died and then a bunch of hacks butchered his shit throughout the '70s.

Also, it's Hendrix. Fuck With Me. :bring:

The Grateful Dead.

Regardless of what YOU think of them, they've been selling out shows (over 2,300 of them) since the late 60s, despite several band members dying along the way.

That was my first thought but didn't mention them because I didn't feel like reading the inevitable and oh so predictable hate posts.

I think most of us can discern between bands that we personally consider great, and bands that are universally accepted as great. GD fits in the latter IMO.

THE worst? No. Until you can say "Deadsy is bast" with a straight face, or you're willing to die on a hill defending the recorded oeuvre of Enuff Z'Nuff, you'll never quite take the top spot.
