I left the 57 by the wayside and use a Telefunken M80 as my go-to utility for snare, guitars and vocals. To me, it's way more flat and has a great enough capsule diameter that you could use it as a kick mic if you absolutely had to. So far, it's exceeded expectations in all of my uses versus a 57 and I've never felt like it needed to be blended with another mic

Used to have an e609 but didn't like it. Too brittle and scooped sounding no matter where I put it on the speaker.

I use a condenser mic AT2035 occastionally.

I've always wanted a 57, but for whatever's reason, I always chose alternatives.

Me too!

I thought I was the only one. I am kind of digging what I have heard from the Hiel PR20. May grab one. Like a fuller 57.
