Hahahaha I love this kind of thread.

We've been there too. We had two dullards in a row. One didn't even make the audition - he set off in plenty of time, but when he got off the bus he couldn't find the practice room. I spent 30 minutes on the phone like some kind of air traffic controller, trying to guide him in. But I couldn't, he was too stupid. Eventually I just had to hang up and we never heard from him again.

The next one arrived smelling like he'd many, many beers (this is at 1pm on a Saturday). He gave us each a big hug as if we were old friends and tried to kiss our cheeks. When we got down to the practice room it quickly transpired that he couldn't sing, didn't know the songs, and barely knew how to be a human being.

Of course, we still did the old "that was fun, we'll be in touch" at the end. :call: :cop: :nlisten:

He had to be drunk. There is no way that sound is coming from a sober human.

rleechb wrote:Started a little cover band for kicks with some homies. One of the guys found a singer on craigslist, who claimed to be in a lot of bands with a great "rock voice". So we hit him up on Monday, gave him a list or 8-9 songs that we were planning on jamming. Fast forward to last night, he showed up, and hadn't learned the lyrics to ANY of the songs.

I would have ended the audition there.

I will listen to it later, need some lulz

In an old band, we had a dude that came by and sounded..... decent. But then he pulled out his lyric notebook and told us that the only way it would work for him is if he was only one with lyrical input. .... ... and that the only things he will sing about are hot rods and chicks. This was for a thrash metal band a la testament / overkill.

He brought a 12 pack of PBR with him that he nursed the whole time. I assure you he wasn't drunk though.... he was that terrible the whole time. He was coherent and composed except when he was singing. :idk:

Hahaha this thread reminded me of some auditions we had when I was playing in bands.
I can't believe how some people really think they can sing.
