Colin, that mortatrem... I would happily use it over a blackface pro reverb.
Same with the reissue bassmans from the early 90's.
Idk, maybe I've just gotten bored of the straight blackface tone. It's lovely and all but I've moved on.

I'm completely biased so I voted for Shea's. I'm currently working on a poverty version for a local guy and plan on building one just like Shea's for myself later this year.
Here's what the poverty Tremolux will have:
Hot Rod Deluxe cabinet
WGS ET65 12" speaker
Classictone PT
Hot Rod Deluxe OT
Various new/old tubes
typical mortatone chassis/board/small parts

And sorry but a 90s bassman RI isn't in the same league as a bf pro. But as usual these things are a popularity contest. I'd say could do an anonymous one in future but lots would know who's rig is who's.
You've never played a 5E9-A, thus you don't know the
blasphemy you speak.

I 100% agree about Bassman RI. They have terrible break up. Cleans are ok though. But again, I don't use clean platforms because I have a set of nuts between my legs.

Perhaps. But I've played real tweed bandmaster head, that thing is a beast and total marshall killer. Bf pro cranked and boosted is up there with anything IMO.

Y'all crazy
That Mortatrem, though.
Mort is scary local to me. Like, six minutes from my job. I still haven't gone over and hung out. That makes me a tool, I think.

But I like your rig anyway....
All this talk about the mortatrem is almost making me rethink my vote, but for sheer versatility, you still win. And I'm a mainly clean amp platform guy myself.

In all seriousness I'm sure the mortatrem is awesome in it's own right though.

Y'all don't like the reissue tweed bassman breakup? I remember liking it quite a bit, though I did buy one used at GC that had some issues. It sounded horrible broken up but something was definitely wrong with it.
But the reason I bought that one without cranking it in the store to try it is that I did like the tone of them. Of course I like the tone of the 1987x I used to own as well
Oh well.

I really need a good "pedal" amp for non-metal tones. Love the Telephants and Dolfs rigs. I'd rock Neil's rig too but for different feels.

There's more than a few amps in this thread that I'd love to play through.

I voted for the rig most likely to sound like ZZ Top's first album.
