in all seriousness though, who are these girls who cant lug their combos around? when did we get this way? im not even big. "dont even lift bro". im not macho at all, just curious.

Weight doesn't bother me much.

Unless I start gigging with my 1810. THEN I'll probably bitch about weight. Or die moving it. Or both.

Lift weights. Increase your awesomeness. Then it won't matter.

The only piece of my equipent I despise lifting is my Twin. It's such a pig.

Yes! That the >100lb Mesa combos (T-Verb, Roadster, Road King) come with a top handle at all is a cruel joke. They are a goddam two man job.

It's because the TGP is 1. fucking lawyer rockers who are old and out of shape and 2. The are all bedroom wankers without band mates. I'm 35 years old, I can still lug around my 110lb mesa 4x12 no problem.

50 yr old dentists who will not purchase an awesome lp because it is 4 ounces too much! It's just that in recent yrs some corksniffers on forums decided that only 8 lb lp's can sound great. I couldn't see turning down a great sounding and looking lp because it is 9.5 lbs instead of 8.9. I have had great sounding /playing lp's both extremely heavy and light. These guys must have forgot that all through 70's through 90's many guys sought out the heavier lp's as they believed they sustained better, and even Installed heavy brass accessories. I had a 89 56ri goldtop that weighted a ton but was the best sounding guitar around.

TalkBass is worse. Its not like you have your amp strapped to your back all the time, i cant imagine giving a crap about amp weight unless it was stupidly heavy. I use a XXX 2x12 combo which weigh 4 billion pounds and will continue to do so.

I did have a 16lb Agile LP for awhile, i can see that getting tiring after the whole night but i wouldnt let it stop me from using it if i loved the sound.

It's funny, even with my heaviest ever gigging rig playing up flights of stairs etc (Thick flightcased 12 U rack, flightcased AC30, big Pedalboard and three guitars), as soon as it was set up and we did sound check it was worth the effort. And afterwards while loading out with people coming up to us and saying we played a great show, that made it all worth while too.

I play a bastard heavy Les Paul through a JCM800 into a Marshall 8x10.

Don't talk to me about heavy...
