That's awesome you're (re?)connecting with your half brother. I've read stories of siblings growing up apart from each other, yet later meeting up and finding a lot of similar qualities. Biology is a cool thing.
My wife found out maybe 10 years ago, that the person she was always introduced to as her cousin (at family reunions and such), is actually her half-brother. Kind of weird that her dad kept his 'other' kid from a previous relationship hidden from his other children, but at least its in the open and they have a decent relationship.
Sorry if it offends you Loop but I gotta say it, I seriously hope you don't get Teo'd . . .

my wife's father found out he had a sister when they were both in their 40s. His dad never said anything about her. put her through college, went & visited, but kept it a secret. my wife's father was born in 1943, so there was probably some 'ozzie and harriet/leave it beaver' shame going on with his dad.

So I'm curious how you found out he was your brother? Or how you found out you had a half bro? I always like hearing how people find these long lost relatives. Spill the deets if you don't mind dude!
And huge congrats man. I'm a big time family guy, i think it's the most important thing in the world...So finding this kind of thing out would blow my mind, and make me upset I missed so many years with a sibling! Time to make up for lost time!

Cool story.
When I was researching my family history, my dad's dad wouldn't answer most of my questions. We always thought he was an only child.
After he died, my grandmother spilled the beans -- his dad had walked out on his mom and shacked up with another woman for a couple of years. They had a kid together.
My grandfather continued caring for his mom (who didn't work). When the Second World War started, he was drafted. He marched right over to his dad's den of sin and said, "I'm going to war. You have to go home and look after mom. If you don't, I'll kill you when I get back."
He went back and stayed with her for another 30-plus years.
Grandpa was so ashamed of what his father did, he refused to talk about ANY family history.

Cool story Loop! When I was 12 I found out that I had 3 half brothers and a half sister. I keep in touch with 2 out of the 4.
