That said, it wore on me after a while. The only way I can describe it is ear fatigue.

^This is the kind of news I want to hear :rawk: (minus the ear fatigue part)
I have wanted a Recto for a long time so maybe this will scratch that itch?

Its like a recto minus the sag. The blackstar isn't the most responsive amp I've played but it is more so than the recto.

So you get the low mids and sounds pretty rectoish, but doesn't feel like you're playing on, y'know?

Thats a pretty good description I would say.

If I had the extra money I would buy your VH. Even though I have one I want 1-2 more to fuck around with and mod and whatnot.

I don't understand you man! Why you no play the VH!?!?!?!?!?!

Sweet amp dude; just no use for it in what I play. I actually thought about forming a band tailored for the tone the VH cranks out. Really loud, doom influenced traditional metal I am thinking. Probably won't happen; but it's a great idea nonetheless :rawk:

I owned a Blackstar for almost a year.

I enjoyed the sounds quite a bit, and decided against keeping it only for the lack of usable volume. If it had been a 50 or 100 watt amp, and I needed heavy crunch, I'd probably still have it. :idk:
