Actually, once the Dimarzio Fred arrives, the Dream 180 is coming back out. I really like it! It is medium output and very clear. Also, you can split the coils without a huge volume drop. My original plan (why I have a Dream 180 and neck Mean 90) was do exactly what you are saying. But, life happens...

I was looking at a Fred, before I bought my Wilde L600... I would love to hear your input on what it sounds like. If I remember right is a cross between the Tone Zone and another one of their humbuckers... maybe the Norton
