Negative Feedback (1970’s to 1980’s) and Depth knobs on the back (NF I keep to about 25%, so closer to 70’s, and Depth I keep completely off)
Gain knob pulls out for extra gain, but I run it between 7 and 8 pushed in.
Sounds fantastic quiet or loud.

I'm not over here modding or anything...just wondering... Other than the smaller footprint, any reason I might want a otherwise stock custom 22 (with depth mod) if I already have a depth modded 100h? Talk me into/out of it. All my other amps are mini heads at this point (besides my pv bravo combo)

Better tone at lower volume is likely the best reason to get it. The Custom 22 has a slightly different sound and gain to it, but it's nothing drastic. Better cleans for sure though.

My Custom 20 Silver amp head in oversized cab ships tomorrow or Thursday. When I initially ordered the head, I was going to have it patterned after the black tolex Silver Jubiliee. Earlier this week I was informed that the chassis isn't big enough to run the full width of the oversized headcab (had I thought about it more, I would have realized that from the beginning). So Doug and I discussed things and I ultimately decided to go with a cross between a JTM45 and JMP appearance...white piping instead of gold. Since this head is smaller than a full size Marshall, the thinner Plexi piping really works. It's getting the gold chassis plate, black knobs with gold tops treatment, too.
Here's the finished head cab...
I'll get another pic before it ships and will post it here when I do.

Super love the way this looks. I'll post again once I have it in hand and I've played through it a bit.

Yeah, all set to arrive on Wednesday (5/11). I’m feeling good about this one.

I really like their new headshell, looks like a small box Marshall, like a JTM45.

Exactly, but only the oversized headshells…the normal ones are the same dimensions as their 20 watt offerings when they were retail.
They’re coming out with a JCA800 in a few weeks. It’s a hand wired 2204 (50 watt) that’s the same size chassis as their 20 watt amps. If you get the oversized headshell it’s a 2204 that’s roughly the size of a JTM45.
Totally awesome.

I saw that yesterday. Seriously considering buying one.

Better cleans in what way? Overdriven is my "clean" tone so more headroom wouldn't necessarily be preferable.

$875 for a built 2204 clone? Today's market? Yeah that's super tempting. I'm assuming these are from a deal Doug struck with the same lady overseas that provided the JCA45 amps a few years ago. If that's the case, it's going to sound pretty damn good.

That IS the case. I have no need for it, but I'll probably buy one anyway.

Holy crapola, this Custom 20 Silver (as photographed above) is unbelievable. Not only is the sound off the charts killer, but everything about it FEELS totally pro and substantial. There's not a single element of this thing that feels cheap.
Dims: 22.5 inches wide, 9 inches tall (not including the legs), 9 inches deep.
I'm leaving town for the next several days, but I played it for about 30 minutes and was just floored. I'll write more when I get back.

Before leaving town, I took a couple quick pics of my new Silver Custom 20:
Jet City amps had a great reputation for good quality when they were retail. I'm here to tell you that this new iteration of the brand is on a whole other level. I HEARTILY recommend these custom 20 amps!

Here’s an excellent YouTube review of the Brown Custom 20 in a regular headshell (I got the Silver Custom 20 in an oversized headshell, but this will still definitely give you a great view or just how great these things are):

I saw this yesterday when looking for clips.... I like the Silver specifically for the Plexi mode on the crunch channel.... my issue with the Jet City 20 watters has always been their crunch channel always got too raunchy too quickly and there was never any real pushed or edge of break up tones there which is where I like to set my "clean" channels on my amps..... does the Silver Custom get those or is it in the same wheel house as the Brown Custom with getting pretty dirty right away?
