The Mercur clone is awesome.
I like Astra Platinum, Sputnik and Iridium. PM me your address and I'll mail you a few.

another vote for the israeli personna reds! full on all purpose blade if ever there was one- and hard to go wrong.
i also liked the gilette 7o'clocks-- but i can't remember which color i had-- ask gene!

as good or better than the personnas.
i've tried a buncha blades but always end up going back to feathers though- just seem to work best for a thick dago beard like i've got without the face shred once you get used to going with an easy hand. they don't last any longer, but for the life they've got, they seem to cut the best with what i've got

I haven’t had luck with Sputnik, but good score nonetheless.
Theses super max diamonds are sweet . Great blade for ten cents. I guess the late Indian engineer that rolled out the process for these blades was really excited to see it get released before he passed. I can see why.
Btw, I’ve decided I’m over wholly kaw. The performance is great......but.
They are expensive, and I’ve had bad luck with good smelling allergic reactions or lame scents.
Declaration grooming is at the same level with better scents and no burn. Price is lower too.

Sotd

Supply injector - kind of sick of fighting this razor. It wasn’t cheap either
Haslinger schafmilch soap - failing to understand the hype on this one. Plus, it burned me.
Razorock synthetic plissoft brush. Awesome.
Razorock son of Zeus. I would’ve used ajax’s Concoction today, but it was one more chance I couldn’t take after a mega shitty burning shave. Need to give it a fair shot after a good shave.

I should really stick to Italian croaps or fine pucks. I should also stick to razorock razors.

Gene, when you refer to 'getting burned', are you referring to the initial burn (high alcohol content of splash) or, the all day burn from an allergic reaction or, razor burn?

Took some time this morning.....love that soap Gene, Razorock is killer, probs the best $7 I ever spent. I haven't had a shave like this in I think ever. My face is smooth like a baby's ass...

Yeah, so when a soap “burns” me, I’m strictly talking allergic reaction/chemical type burn. I don’t get razor burn and I don’t consider alcohol sting a true “burn”.
Most of the time, it’s a scent oil of some sort. Lanolin could also be a culprit. I have sensitive skin and a thick beard. It’s a bad combo. Half of the soaps I try burn my face.
So, my allergy chemical burns sometimes cause a rash. It usually fades to manageable or gone within an hour.

Awesome!!
Yeah, the artificial clean janitors closet smell of uncle Walter is invigorating and intoxicating. It’s also top notch, performance wise.

I walked into a diner restroom, a few years ago, and whatever cleaner they were using, smelled exactly like Pre de Provence!

Buhjeebuz! Hopefully, the Old Salt aftershave won't burn you... if it does, maybe newholland or steiny can put it to use?
Just ordered some Uncle Walter shave cream and a bottle of RazoRock Caribbean Holiday aftershave. Wooo hoooo!!!!

It shouldn’t. I’ve used a number of bay rums, and the burn never went beyond what cinnamon, clove, and alcohol should do inherently. I just didn’t want to use it after a chemical burn because of the inherent “sensation” of the warm spices in all bay rums. It would have made a compound problem, when normally I don’t have issues with br.

Psa. Razorrock has baby smooth razors in all 3 colors for $25. I just bought the silver one to round out the collection.
I don’t mind having identical razors. It makes it easier to audition new blades. I have a double digit number of new blades to try and only one face to shave per day.
