Not really. I had horrible allergies before this became an issue due to the winter being a constant thaw-freeze-thaw cycle all winter long. And we're still fluctuating enough in temps that I might have the sniffles from the cold, or the pollen, and might be coughing from either.

IndyWS6 wrote:^ That's why I'll be glad when reliable and cost-effective tests for the virus (both current infections and "antibody") are readily available. As previously mentioned, I have had all of the common symptoms, excluding a known fever. I continue to lack any real energy and I have a dry hack/cough. I don't want to make assumptions and I would really like to know for "peace of mind" and future reaction planning if it resurges. I honestly think it's a gamble to open up anything large-scale without adequate testing. Seems incredibly risky.

On a related note, I got an email from my boss. When we do go back to work (timing still unknown), it will be in phases and I'm in "Phase 3" (the last phase). Essentially, if you can work effectively from home three or more days a week, you go back last. I'm pretty sure that "Phase 3" is code for "Shows signs of insanity - maintain isolation"

New JAMA study...

"One other surprising finding from the study was that 70 percent of the patients sick enough to be admitted to the hospital did not have a fever. Fever is currently listed as the top symptom of covid-19 by the CDC, and for weeks, many testing centers for the virus turned away patients if they did not have one".

Ruh-Roh

I never had a fever. My main symptom when I *believe I had it was strange tiredness. I do preface “I believe” cause I personally wasn’t confirmed but there was a person who did test positive in my house. And I WAS sick with sumthin. No doubt. And we honestly did nothing in regards to isolating this person. I don’t have a big enough house to do such a thing. It was, well, let’s see what happens..

But I too didn’t have any of the major or most common symptoms. I was getting hot flashes which generally only happens when I have a fever but I never had one. For me it was falling asleep 6-7 times a day. And since I was one of these guys who was very aware of symptoms of my body from past health issues that have sorta made me more acutely dialed in to when my body feels off, I knew before even my tiredness took full effect that I had something. And if you understand the body and how it responds to viruses, it’s natural response is to “shut down” as much as possible so it can use all its energy in fighting whatever you have off. Sometimes symptoms make it difficult to sleep. But I really believe the reason my body responded by literally shutting off, as I would be somewhat awake and next thing I was asleep, was simply my defense system responding to something it hadn’t seen before. Like “hey, who’s that new guy in here??” -Shit man, i never seen his ass before.. - “better round up all the troops! Tell the fucking humanoid meat suit that we are turning his dumbass off for awhile..” and I should be thankful my immune system will reaponded that way because it’s the best way the body responds to fighting off viruses. It’s also why animals will naturally stop eating. As digestion takes up a good portion of energy thruout the day. And an animal instincts kick in to preserve as much energy the body has by stopping eating to give even further assistance to the bodies immune response. And it’s also why I went down to one meal a day while I was sick... anyway, yeah. Never had a fever. Lol

First let me say I’m not a Bill Gates conspirator, but if you ask me, he might be a Wolf in sheep’s clothing. At the least, I’m keeping my eyes on what happens with his involvement. He hasn’t been an “on the level” guy from the beginning if we are being honest. He’s stolen many ideas to make his dough. But whatver, I’m just saying I don’t fully trust his intentions, but I also don’t think he’s got some global elite level “politics” he’s enacting either. But he isn’t Mr. nice guy trying to help the world either. I don’t believe anyway. There is sumthin shady. Pure gut feel at this point. So innocent until proven guilty!

But back to the health issues that at this point we have to assume is Covid related. Since it’s being shared by more than one person in my house. But quickly let me back up, I may have singled out a more likely case of when we got infected. I thought it was daughter bf who is staying with us and his father had it and he also tested positive. But before that, our mechanic, who’s now been on a respirator for almost a month!! He was a great mechanic, honest prices, but for being only 7-8 years older than me he looked in his 60s.. so not a healthy guy. My wife was in there one time where he was coughing like a diseased mule! Don’t know what that means but my wife was in there during this time and she said he was coughing like crazy the entire time she was In there. This was right before he was hospitalized and even said he thought he might have it. So I believe prolly she brought it in from him. He’s actually been transferred to one of the bigger hospitals in the City for further care. So this got him pretty good.

Anywho, lately BOTH my wife and I have been experience fairly severe low back pain. Which I’ve now seem to center on what would likely be sciatic nerve type pain. A few days ago, I was in so much pain where my legs were hurting so bad. I couldn’t even bend over to touch my toes without that nerve pain shooting thru the roof! My old lady has been complaining of the same low back pain for weeks, and it’s in the exact same spot. And idk, as soon as my pain came on, I could tell this wasn’t actually a physical back pain, but just something unusual.

Also we both have some sort of rash. Not bad, not super itchy, but some definitely tender spots. My daughter bf has been complaining of feeling hot, and my wife said he is super hot to the touch but has no fever.. So yeah, idk. Just weird stuff.

I’ve seen that they are kinda linking recovered patients with this nerve type pain and for ME my guess is it’s the sciatic nerve that got really flared up for some reason.

First off mojo for you, and your family's suffering.

This is a mad virus, it seems to be affecting different people in different ways.

I'm now at day 33, on Monday the covid centre doctor said I'm clear of the virus, and other possible complications, yet last weekend was probably the worst I've felt, struggling with breathing, and pissing with sweat even though I no longer have a temperature. :idk: Fortunately, my breathing is good again, and I'm not burning up anymore, but I've still got the headache and dizziness that's lasted over a month. The staff told me they'd had several people reporting similar issues.

On the docs advice, I'm currently doing 3 days of co-codamol and ibuprofen, rather than just the regular advised paracetamol, we'll see how that goes. All of this seems strange considering that I only had mild symptoms of the virus initially, it would appear that it's a sneaky bastard, the aftermath has been worse than the actual illness felt.

Hang in there dude.

Thanks man. Same to you. Truth be told, I’m kinda one of these guys who even tho I had it, I think everything is so overblown. Maybe I’m lucky? But I think I’m way more than norm than not..

Anyway, I do agree with you there seems to be some post issues that are a little more worrisome than when I had it. As I mentioned before I have a lung disease and have some shortness of breath anyway. And that really didn’t get flared up much, but there have been a few times in my sleep where I’m dreaming I can’t breath and I can’t wake up. And gonna be honest that has scared me recently the most. Because I don’t believe it’s simply a dream but I’m dreaming it because I’m struggling with my breath during my sleep. And yesterday was the 3rd time that I sorta recognize I’m dreaming and I’m struggling with breathing but I can’t wake up. Man I hate that. I can’t say I’ve experienced that sorta sleep paralysis at any other time in my life. And it’s making me slightly scared to sleep.

You would think the virus being 'gone' would be the end of things and life would be starting get back to some level of normal

Sorry to hear EndTime, i have had moments where i cant move in sleep and it feels terrible i can only imagine it to your level, stay strong

Slightly different tangent... If memory serves, there are eight states that did not order any "stay at home" or "shelter in place" edicts for their residents. I have not seen any data that compares infection/mortality rates to states that did. With the appropriate data normalization in place to give an "apples to apples" comparison, that would be interesting.

I work closely with some people in Sweden and they have kept the country open. They suggest caution, but don't require it. Schools, restaurants, gyms, etc. are free to operate. This morning one of them was a little indignant that they must be doing something right because they aren't suffering like we are here. When pressed, she admitted that there is almost no testing and very little in the way of health reports. It makes you wonder if their approach is working, or if it is a late onset/lack of awareness situation. Time will tell, but I don't see how they could be less-susceptible as a country than the US.

It has been reported that Sweden has 10% more infections than Norway, Finland and Denmark.

EDIT:
This article says it's higher... https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 70771.html

This just out. Possible coverup... https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidnikel ... adce604349

Ahem.... my apologies... like Texas Governer, Dan Patrick said yesterday, "There are more important things than living"!

I think, some politicians are looking for the easy way out. Reopening means THEY don't have to work at organizing food distribution to the poor and arranging for the state to help with rent and other expenses that some people can't cover. Just let them get sick/die so I don't have to work hard.

While their economy may have been cruising along over the past few weeks, they now have more infections than any of their neighbors and they are fucked.
