I don't have any. I think I might want one. The Ka symbol from the Gunslinger series...im a HUGE fanboi.
but weather I man up and do it or not is another story.
My sister is a tattoo artist so I could get anyone I want for nuffin. Except a plane ticket.

I have two decent-sized tattoos, and one is a literary homage. I think something King-related that wasn't a fucking clown face or Christine or some shit would be awesome. There was a dude on HCAF who had the two battling avatars from the original cover of
The Stand on it. That would be amazing as well.

Seriously. Good Lit is timeless, I kinda feel like something as permanent as a tat should be super meaningful. Seems like there are SO many people getting tatts that are somewhat shallow. For example, I know a person that has a buncha Nintendo / My Little Pony tatts..she might be way into that shit but it seems to pale in comparison to something like an homage to family, history, or literary reference.
That said, I don't really like that I feel so judgemental about it. I'm sure it contributes to my not having any tatts.

That's totally cool! This is my more recent addition. It's a symbol that appeared on the hardcover of every book published by W. Somerset Maugham during his life. He's my favorite author (and incidentally, one of Stephen King's favorites as well):

I LOL'd yesterday.
My wife & I went to a pizza joint to grab a bite. There was some woman in her 20's, who had no teeth, a mustache, and a lip piercing. Had the lot of small home-made tatts too.

For me it's not so much whether it'd be cool in 5 years, as if I did have one it'd most likely be somewhere no one would see it anyway. I just don't have anything that I've felt the need to have tattooed on me.
I've got a lot of mongoloid friends with tattoos, basically because they think it looks cool. Big sleeves of "metaaaaaaal" looking stuff 'n' whatnot. Yeah great, now you can sit around comparing tatts with all your boyfriends while you listen to black metal bands no one's ever heard of while drinking some beer that no one's ever heard of. Don't forget to wear leather, boys. Maximum cool.

I almost got one after my pancreas stopped working. I wanted a shield with a caduceus, TYPE 1 DIABETIC above and INSULIN OR DEATH below it; and a small scroll with instructions for a medic who might find me unconscious.
But after talking with our chief of EMS, they really don't check the wrists/arm other than looking for a medic alert bracelet or dogtag. So I canned the tattoo idea.

The more and more I see them around, I feel the same way. Dude at work has some terrible "prison tattoos" just anywhere on him. They just look horrible, like the rest of him. If I were to get one, it's going to mean something close to me. I have a great idea for one, but I just don't have the extra swag to justify it. My job often times gives me scars and junk anyway, so I'd be afraid of running them in no time flat.
I had the urge to get some a while back, but I always ended up spending the cash on guitars/amps/beer/cheap hookers so I never got around to it. Maybe one day.......
