Thanks!! The soap smells so awesome, plus I’m over my glissant inferiority complex. I think I like it more than excelsior.

SOTD:

Pretty good. I think I accidentally used this blade 4 times, and I could tell.
This soap smells amazing.
Wasn't thrilled with my Myrsol Metilsol today. Sometimes I like the scent of listerine all over my face, but it didn't connect with me today.

Darwin Clone Razor
Astra Blade
A&E Plum soap (love it!!!)
Adagio AS
NB Signature Peppermint Balm
I loved the Darwin clone when I first got it... not sure what happened but, it's been giving me razor burn lately.
The combination of Adagio, followed by Peppermint balm, is like putting freon on my face!!!
7/10 because, I don't know what the fuck is up wit the Darwin!

Super impressed with all the B&M lately....ever since you clued me in on how to use the Reserve Gene, I haven't had one bad shave from them. Diamond kills, Arctique after a hot work day is fuckin awesome, in LESS THAN HEROIC AMOUNTS. Seriously, this is key with this AS....about half what I normally use and I'm fine. Also, its 80 degrees and sunny, I worked outside all day, and applied this. Now I'm fucking freezing.
Speaking of impressed.....the Timeless .68 - once I stopped trying to make it be my Karve, this thing just excels...stopped applying pressure, let the razor do the work, and it's a great daily driver. WAY more efficient than I gave it credit for....3 pass DFS, approaching BBS. Shit just works. Timeless .95 should be here later this week and it'll be interesting to compare them....some days I don't WANT a whole huge scrape like the Karve gives me, I just want to clean my face up. This plate is perfect for that.

Barrister & Mann info update:
There is a limited edition coming out on Saturday at noon. If my calculations are correct, the 20% coupon will still be good for 12 hours after release.
I will hopefully be ready to buy.
Also, They are rereleasing Fougere GOthique soap and a new Fougere Angelique some time in August. It will be in reserve base, and exclusively available at Maggards. Don't miss these.
BTW, I think Terror comes out in July. I always check the B&M release schedule on their website.

Yeah, Terror 7/1 according to the release schedule. Any idea what the new one is supposed to be?
Working Saturday, might have to have you grab one for me and I’d PP you later in the afternoon...
EDIT: I’m on this, found the scent profile on the website; I’m a sucker for The Great Gatsby lol....also, buy a full set, Dogwood Handcrafts is giving away a few random brushes with full set purchase. They make nice brushes, how cool would it be to have a brush that matched the set!

SOTD:

Tried new stuff today.
Saponificio Varesino - 70th anniversary. In the container, this is the greatest smelling soap ever. Lathered up, the scent kind of faded. Lathered ok. Shaved really well. Not sure I would ever spend $40. lots of hype surrounding this brand.
Mike's Natural Soaps barbershop aftershave. - Pretty sure Oleo soaps makes this for Mike. This is a "Skin Food" aftershave. (I fucking hate that term, BTW.) It smells nothing like a barbershop scent. It's more of an aquatic, citrus, cologne scent. Smells GREAT, fwiw. That said, I realized why I hate "Skin Food". It adds like 10 things to which I may be allergic. This one burned me.
Brass Blackbird = awesome.
Blue Platinum = awesome
Brush = awesome.
Overall, 8/10 because of the underwhelming holy grail soap and burning aftershave.

Are you still interested in the Mike's? It's actually very similar to the Kracken. I think you would love it.

All good dude, after I posted it it came off to me like I was begging for shit. You’ve given me more than enough, it’s cool. Hopefully it’s the combo of soap and you can still use it.

Re: Gillette

I've decided Saponificio Varesino soaps are okay, but not worth $40. This sample experiment was good to get it out of my system. Don't buy into the hype. The bubbles are nice and small. Very creamy lather for a triple milled. Good scent. Kind of a pain to lather though, and I actually nicked myself today with my Brassbird. Very uncommon for me.
This flat top brush was awesome though.
B&M Waves aftershave was awesome today.
9/10

I have the 42 soap in the glissant base
I have the old non deltus 42 aftershave
And the 42 edt.
It’s pretty good. Kind of like earl gray tea with a bunch of lemon, while you’re in a candle store. Not my favorite scent ever, but good.

Hmm....based on that description I’d skip it. Only reason I’d grab is because the new one is Excelsior and for the HHGGTG reference.
Stick to Saturday and Terror next month.

Dude, if you want a LE Excelsior soap with a masterpiece fragrance, get the Beaudelaire from West Coast Shaving. It's like a more green Lavanille. VERY masculine. Smells like the golf club I grew up at. I bought the complete set, and I'm glad I did.

Well, I came home from IL, to find a box from Barrister and Mann, and a bottle of 42, and a bottle of Diamond inside. I really like Diamond. I really like the sweet and salty characteristics. It does have many of the fragrances of baseball. And I don’t care about baseball. It doesn’t have steroids or Skoal, but the League more or less banned dip, and, thanks to Chris fucking Benoit NOT killing his wife and son, the gas is harder to find than Newports in Minneapolis.
I sniffed the 42, and it’s going to take a few splashes, but it’s pretty cool. It’s definitely not an aftershave that Arthur Dent would wear, though.

Nice!!
Fwiw, b&m nocturne smells like skoal cherry if you need dip scented soap.
Grooming dept molten smells like skoal wintergreen.

Me? Dip? No, thank you. I just associate it with baseball. I work in a technical field, where a lot of field techs dip, probably because if you smoke around a lead-acid battery, the hydrogen gas will send you sky-high. That, and it’s really easy to conceal. Disgusting habit. I’ll stick to eating Tide Pods.

Felt the same and skipped it.
Did grab this stuff though:

This was all the stuff they couldn't sell when they moved stores, so it's been sitting for a minute. Jabbered at dude and worked out a 40% discount.....all this stuff for around $60, plus he threw in their beard oil for free. Also, they started their own line, smells pretty good. They have one that smells EXACTLY like MLS's The Kraken, and it's $15 for the soap and $10 for the splash, and the soap is like 8oz legit, it's HUGE. I'm gonna grab when I run out of MLS. Hyped to try it all.
Gene, like I thought Promises soap but no AS.
