When you were caught lying you blamed your wife for the lies. That makes her a liar. Or you're just lying and back pedaling. I'd believe either one.

I know this hits home for you based on your military background, but comon man, inflammatory language saying Bush killed more americans than a terrorist doesn't do anybody any good ... unless you're trying to push buttons
Yet, it's still not outright lies like you typed above. Being a liar is not good, hard tail. Your liar of a wife is just as bad.

I realize to some, being a "Patriot" these days means blindly waving their flag and supporting the administration. To me being a patriot means supporting your country when it does the right thing and raising the bullshit flag when it doesn't.

ajaxlepinski wrote:First of all, no one is suffering from the effects of The Affordable Health Care Act (Obama Care)... they only just started signing people up on October 1st and it doesn't kick in until 2014.
Everytime I go to the Emergency Room at the local hospital for a few stitches, the first thing they ask is, "Do you have health insurance?"
Luckily, I have a job that provides me with coverage.
The next time you're in the ER, look around. You will see several people who have been waiting for several hours to see a Doctor.
These people, for what ever reason (pre-existing condition, lost their job, etc) do not have health insurance.
In my neck of the woods, there can be as many as 20 people without insurance waiting in the ER to see a Doctor.
The hospital is obligated to help them but, the hospital forces them to wait a really long time in order to discourage them from coming back.
Who pays for these uninsured people when they visit the expensive ER to get a prescription for their urinary tract infection? We the Tax payers do.
Wouldn't it make sense to send, someone with a yeast infection, to a less expensive clinic or a General Practitioner for treatment... especially if the tax payers are paying the bill?
This is what the Affordable Health Care Act (aka Obama Care) is all about.
Kaiser Health has spent millions of dollars spreading lies about the Affordable Health Care Act because, they see it as a threat to their profits.
They are paying off politicians millions to squash Obama Care. Kaiser Health is PURE EVIL!!!
Check out this link to see what it's really about: http://www.whitehouse.gov/healthreform/myths-and-facts
There is so much misinformation going around that 98% of what you hear is bull shit. Most of what we hear about Obama Care is bull shit.
Do you really care if the board of directors at Kaiser Health nets $10 billion instead of $15 billion?
You may care when your Health Insurance Company denies you or a family member service. They love to tell you that your plan does not cover your needed surgery.
After his Health Insurance Company stopped paying, my cousin had to sue to get his daughter into the hospital. He won and she was treated but, WTF???
They said that Social Security and Medicare was going to ruin the country when they were first proposed.
Yes, there will always be people who try to take advantage and steal from programs like SS and Medicare.
Yes, people will try to scam The Affordable Health Care Act. There are always bugs (in any new system) that will need attention but, it's better to have Affordable Health Care in the long run.
If someone doesn't have health insurance it doesn't mean that they're getting free health care that taxpayers pay for. Plenty of people get billed and pay accordingly. Sweeping generalizations are sweeping.

As it should be! Why should the guys sitting on their asses get paid more than the folks actually doing labor? OH thats right -managers are basically clerks and who signs the checks??? CLERKS. The average ceo now makes 350x more than his average employee. UPS should strap their managers to loading pallets and roast some smores!!

Not the only place in the world. At my place of employment we have those who reject management positions and make more money than those in management. I am an example of this.
I will admit that our benefits aren't better than management and actually PTO is less and it is capped at 10 yrs. rather than 15 yrs. for management.

I dont get it...
Why should I do any work when the gov't will just take care of my every need for little/no cost?
Why should I hold myself responsible for meeting my basic needs when I can get someone else to?
I mean the more you earn, the more the gov't takes away anyway, so there's no motivation either way.

Re: People bitching about obamacare
That's really the beauty of running a business. Make your wife a 50% partner. Every dinner out=business meeting. Write-off in the entertainment file.
You really gotta find ways to reduce that tax liability. Because I feel the same as you. The more I work, the more hours I put in- the more that gets taken from me. I agree with taxes, but not to the extent that we are now 2nd highest in the world. Bullshit.
Keep your "income" within a bracket, write as much shit as you can off as business expenses. Stuff that would normally take a lot of discretionary income. Go on vacation? Make sure you conduct some sort of business there with someone in person, now the whole trip and associated expenses are a business expense, etc.

Obamacare is all about personal responsibility. No longer can people just hit the E-Room, use it like their Primary Care doctor, and then scam out on the bill for the rest of us to pay. Now people need to provide insurance so that when they get sick it's not the rest of us footing the bill for a quad bypass or some such.
Also, the part I bolded shows a blatant lack of understanding of how our tax system is rigged.

Heres the problem with making laws that modify "normal behaviour" and not laws which reduce exceptions to "normal behaviour". Making a law to stop murder doesnt stop the exceptions that still violate the law. Making a law to require insurance is no different. So using an example of some abusers of a hospital emergency policy to justify changing the law is ludicrous. The majority are being punished for the actions of a few. The ACA as it stands is just a windfall for the insurance industry. If we had went the " Medicare for all "route then it would have been a simple and easy system to adapt. But it would be decried as "socialism". Who hates socialism more than the filthy rich??? NOBODY. We have been lied to about socialism since Hearst printed his first paper. IF we went to a single-payer system tommorrow then the subsidies for the pentagon,big-oil ,the airlines,General Electric etc would have to be cut to help fund the system. Life would go on but the Koch bros and their lobbyist friends would have to share some of their ungodly profits to help raise the standard of living for us all.

Hey man. I'm a huge proponent of single payer. But the fact remains that there are some things in the ACA which are good. I think over the next several years we'll work the kinks out and honestly, we'll end up with a single payer option.
Is it the law I'd have chosen? Good God no. Is it better than what we had? I think so.

When I hear, "over the next couple years, we'll work the kinks out," I want to shit in the pockets of my jeans.
Years?
How about introducing a turn-key plan? How about creating a plan that's completely ironed out before its launched?, especially when it affects every single fucking American.
Good god. Who the fuck else in the free world rolls out half speed, hole-filled failures like this? Do I wake up in the morning and say, "Juan, you piss in the wind, try to hit the plants. Alberto, go over there and suck your own dick in the human pretzel position while raking up weeds. James, drive that truck right the fuck off that cliff, try to land in a gas station on the way. Julio, go shit down both legs over the fertilizer tank."
Yeah, all these processes are somewhat inline with what needs to be done. But are they good enough to run an efficient business? Nope. Would I have a "couple years" to iron the kinks out? Doubt it.
Yet your boys get a pass? Man.

Bullshit.
Are we paying them for services?
Any time your money (taxes, fees or fines) translates into a reciprocal such as a service or product, you have commerce- a business.
Apparently, you are forgetting that.

Re: People bitching about obamacare
So let me step back a bit and ask this question.
Regardless of what you think about Obamacare someone explain to me why the US can not (or should not, your choice) have some kind of healthcare? Every other first (and most second) world countries has this. What's different in the US?
And don't give me the "we're too big" cuz that don't fly. You can't use "too big to fail" and then use "too big to succeed" because both translate directly to "too greedy to change".
Disclaimer in case you want to play "shuddup, you're a Canadian" card: You that know me, know I spent a few years living in SoCal and loved every second of it. I have NO anti US bias at all. I would move there permanently but for one thing. The cost of getting sick scares the hell out of me.
