no, I'm one of those people that keeps french midgets from Texas in line.

If we're discussing racism, context doesn't matter. A racist word is a racist word.

But then you come across those videos where the fat kid getting bullied just absolutely smears the pavement with the bully. Total ass whipping ensues.
Feels good because that fat kid will basically be cool all the way through his senior year in high school.

"Hey why did you go to jail?"
"Because I am black/latino"
Fact. I have friends of my own race that don't know how to act, get in trouble and says its discrimination. Fact, fact, fact.
How about you stop breaking the law FIRST and THEN see if there is so much discrimination??
FWIW, my brown ass was never arrested... and last I checked CharvelDan is white as fuck....
YMMV.

I said this kid was treated unfairly because he was smaller than the aggressors. Further, I said bullying is way more of a problem than racism, however once something is tagged with racism, it becomes a national media circus. Much like Zimmerman bullying Martin. He saw a kid he thought he could pick on and bully. Is ridiculous and needs to be labeled correctly.
OK, now here's a post that makes some sense. Sorry I couldn't put this all together myself from the rest of the thread.
Not sure I can agree that bullying is more of a problem that racism, though. Interesting statement, though. How much of racism is actually bullying? Those of one race know that they will have back up if they bully another race? Just like the bigger picking on the smaller, I suppose.
Interesting.

To me, that's the unfuckingbelievable part. The lawmaker there should be sued to kingdom come.
No.
the rule was he didn't *have* to intervene and he chose to take that route. he could have intervened per his district's policy.
TU BE wrote:Marc G wrote:I'm sorry... even though he is 64 years old he could have stopped it.. if he stopped the bus and just stepped in they would have stopped... they are kids and in the end they would see an adult as an authority figure...
Ok , I gotta disagree with this. Us older guys remember when this was absolutely true. Most kids today have ZERO respect for adults or authority. This generation has a lack of parenting in the upbringing of today's kids. And YES, I am gonna go here, but did Treyvon "respect" Zimmerman because he was an adult and acting as an authority figure in a neighborhood watch? No, he punched him and beat his head into the sidewalk. When I was 17 and an adult approached me, I acted with respect. Why? My parents taught me to do that. If I didn't respect my mom or dad (or any adult and they found out), I got punished (usually via an ass whooping).

Do you all watch for this stuff? Make it up?
Like I seriously go about my day and rarely have any problems, never get introduced to Klan members, don't get called racial slurs (typically) and for the most part just live a normal average life. Most of my coworkers and friends from all races/ages/whatever experience the same thing.
Don't take the news out of context and assume we still have lynchings here in Texas. We don't put up with that crap, we are angry for all kinds of other reasons. Like the heat and Rick perry.

You work from home RB. You also work for a big national bank. Not to say there aren't plenty of white collar racists as there are, they just generally have enough....self-awareness to know when its acceptable to be a racist asshat. I hear it pretty much on a daily basis as the only black guy in my store (well, in our building) works in my department. The shit people say, ugh.
I wish I could say I never have to hear that shit.

Sample from last week heard from some Lady screaming inside her house (No reason to make this up)
"Hey....Where is Jimmy Staying at?" - Woman #1
""He still staying at that White Bitches house..." - Woman #2
Nice eh?
Not sure what she ment.....But I was thinking it was a racist remark.
And I only caught 15 seconds of that conversation.

Look, I'm not an enlightened white guy with all the answers. I don't have anecdotal evidence to support any stance other than my own, and that is I rarely experience or witness racism where the offending party actually intends to disrespect or cause harm to someone simply due to their skin color. On a human level, most people are just simply people that interact with other people, where any number of things cause friction that have nothing to do with race.
Does racism exist? Yeah, dude. To the mailman, dude you being a white guy walking the projects ain't normal, bro. Most of us simply don't experience that on a daily basis. That said, most of the time I'm in bad areas I see the same thing you do. Normal people that don't pay me no mind because they're wrapped up in their own world. Same way it is where I live, which is predominantly Indian/Chinese.
Shit isn't perfect but I think intended racism is relatively low compared to perceived racism.
