I have one small one up high on my back. I've never felt the urge to get another until about a month ago when a particular idea popped into my head. It keeps recurring a lot. So I am just stewing on it a bit longer to make sure it's not a passing fad in my mind. Due to some positive changes I've begun to make in my life, I will be getting a particular verse done in script on my chest real soon. The words are equal to a serenity prayer for me and always seem to remind me to keep a proper perspective on things.
My point here is that I won't get inked willy nilly for the fuck of it. If I am committing it to skin, than it is something that really matters to me. It's not a hobby in my eyes.

Tattoos aren't so bad but those giant earring ear lobe thingies and crazy. Big dangly ear hole when you get older.

I don't have any tattoos. I like tattoo artwork and I have a lot of ideas to use on myself, but it's just really far down my priorities list. There's so many other things I want to spend my money on before I throw down the money on some good ink. There's nothing wrong with people who have it higher on their list, this is just how it works for me.
As for getting a tattoo for your career/livelihood, I see no problem with it. If your livelihood is something you take pride in and affects your everyday life, why would it be bad to show your commitment/pride in what you do? I don't see it as sad, I see it as being very passionate about your career choice. That's just my .02 on that.

I still have not seen a guitar tattoo worth a shit. They just always look cheesy.

I used to want a profile of a strat headstock (CBS style) but got older & came to the same conclusion.

It's a tribal eagle, which was cool back in the mid 90's when I got it. These days, not so much, but since I drawn it myself, it is still special to me and I don't regret it but I don't know if I want more tattoos either.

I have 3, but I haven't gotten a tattoo since I was 20 (I'm 31 now). All these dumb kids getting tattoos just because it's "in" have ruined it for me. Besides, I'd rather spend money on guitar/recording stuff these days.
