Bruh the Dark Souls games are literally some of the best games ever made. I've beaten all of them countless times and still keep going back to them

The only proper suggestion I have for you: GIT GUD

The only game I've ever returned in 40+ years of gaming. I do it to relax, that game had me one second away from putting my foot thru my tv.

Tell him you beat it and now it's his turn. :thu:

Bloodborne is incredible

Stuck on Iudex Gundyr?

I'm a huge fan of all the Dark Souls. Its all about patterns and timing. If you keep at it it will click in. Fantastic games and super satisfying when you kill the bosses.

That's the problem. I play games for fun. I don't need to be wasting time learning patterns. I hate that shit. Fuck it. I need a new game.

If your son got it for you, then be a pal and muscle through it  lots of action/music/sports games have patterns that get etched into muscle memory.

Some basic stuff in case you really are new to it:
-You alternate between defending and attacking. You defend by blocking, parrying (really tough), or dodging. You are invincible for a fraction of a second during a dodge.
-Hold dodge to run.
-The amount of fun you have is directly correlated with the size of your health and stamina bars (magic too if you use that). Level those early on.
-Two-handing a weapon makes it easier to bust through defenses.
-Spear and shield was the easiest way to play when this series first came out.

The series kind of created its own genre and it's totally fine to not be into it.

Dev, I got stuck hard in Sekiro and still haven't gone back. The big boss on the top of a building.

I'd need to start over at this point

Sekiro is by far the hardest out of all the FromSoft games in my opinion. I beat literally everything else in the game (optional or otherwise) but I never did beat the final boss lol. The few times I got him to his final phase I was totally out of heals :( One of these days I'll give it another spin. Fucking incredible game regardless though.

Really hope they do a sequel!

Good info here. Another tip that hardly anyone ever mentions, is that locking on to your targets can be quite detrimental in many cases. Too many people lock on to everything and suffer for it

I finally picked up Hades tonight, it rules. Aside from the general gameplay being enjoyable as hell, I've found the story real engaging the characters are great, the voice acting is stellar, and the sound track kicks serious ass.

Dude it’s probably the best indie game i’ve played since Hollow Knight. So fucking fun and addictive as hell.

I’ve already sunk so many hours in to and i’m still playing it haha

And yeah the bass riffage is epic

Hell yeah man. Hah it’s funny you say that about Hades and Hollow Knight. (I’m very slowly getting back into games after many years of not playing.) One of my hardcore gamer buddies who keeps me in the loop said the same thing about both of them being big favorites.

Hollow Knight is a must-have....it’s better than most big budget games out there really

I been playing the new Monster Hunter on Switch; it's super repetitive but also pretty addictive

Played a good bit of Outriders. It's repetitive as shit. You basically have dudes that hide behind cover, along with insta-hit snipers, or swarm enemies like Zerg. Those are your two encounter types. Game levels are linear as hell. Going to return it and use that credit toward a Resident Evil: Village pre-order.

Currently playing Resident Evil Biohazard since I never went through that, and Village is a direct sequel to that game.

Also have Returnal on pre-order since I'm one of the lucky bastards that somehow managed to snag a PS5. That game looks really, really cool.

Never did finish Demon's Souls remake, though. Need to be in the right headspace for Souls games, and this year has been pretty shitty, so I sat that one down and didn't go back. It's a damn work of art, though. Gorgeous graphics, and the 3D audio in it is amazing. Couldn't recommend it more highly for those interested in that type of game.

The girl and I have been playing: Crash Bandicoot: It's About Time on the PS5, Sky Force Reloaded on the Switch, and still (grinding) on Skyrim on the PC.

I used to love playing Skyrim, but the girl just plops in my lap with the mouse and keyboard and wants to "creature adventure" across the continent. Sooooo boring.

Year later bump......WZ did this thing where they introduced Rebirth Resurgence.....if the slower pace of normal Battle Royales is not for you, this is your Huckleberry.

Takes place on a smaller map, only 50 people....you start with a self res and an extra life...when you come back, there's a timer. If you survive past that timer, you can die and come back again, and again, and again, almost until the end of the match.

It's super fast paced and a blast...people don't really camp, (my main problem with BRs) because they know they can get into fights and just come right back, it's fuckin awesome.

Just fired it up an hour ago, played 4 games, won twice. It's a good time.

I’ve been playing Elden Ring and it’s pretty good. I started Disco Elysium a while ago and it’s amazing, but depressing and I see too much of myself in the main character…it’s verbose and dense and I have to be in the mood for it.

I picked up Into the Radius last week to play on my Quest2. I haven’t used the device much and this is the first game I bought for it, so I hope I enjoy it and I’ll get to push my computer.

I played through Subnautica last summer and it’s probably one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in a video game. Tough to get those sorts of feelings as I get older!
