Congrats man! That's awesome.

Hopefully you're in the part of losing weight where it it becomes addictive and you don't want to stop. That's how I get. When I first saw the change, I wanted more.

Thanks brother! Had I known this was all I needed to do I would have done it 10 years ago. I am totally addicted to how I'm looking in the mirror. Seeing results is fucking cool shit. :rawk:

Sugar free instant chocolate pudding mixed with cool-whip is a delicious alternative for a guy with a sweet tooth. Just mix em together and chill.

Do you bros have any other recommendations on something sweet that won't kill us? Or make us fatter?

I hate to be a natural food preacher, but those are two things I will never eat.

The sugar free pudding is pure splenda. I tried going no carbs in 2005. I ate too much splenda and had a reaction to it. I thought I was dying. If I accidentally have some now, I still feel weird. I avoid it like the plague. I turn red, and my throat tightens up. BAD stuff. It's a sweetener I wish they could uninvent. It's in everything now. (SUCRALOSE. not to be confused with sucrose which is just sugar). I could drink 90 diet cokes with aspartame, and feel better than having one teaspoon of splenda.

Cool whip is literally just an emulsion of hydrogenated vegetable oil (crisco) and high fructose corn syrup. I would rather eat a stick of butter dipped in pixie stick dust. It would certainly be healthier.

If you must have something sweet, how about a banana with cinnamon? some raisins with your almonds? a square of high% cocoa dark chocolate.

yep - any dairy is whole fat or don't bother. Even in otherwise healthy diary products, whenever they take fat out they put sugar in to replace the flavor and consistency. Desserts are the same.

Not as bad as fake sweeteners tho'.

Splenda makes my throat constrict and mouth dry out. If I use too much in one day (dump it in coffee or sport drinks etc) I get headaches and a weird feeling in my stomach.

Consequently, I've been using sugar but simply much less of it.
It's taking work and discipline but I'm substituting 'sweet' for flavorful protein/fat/spices etc. Then eating dessert in small snack dark chocolate, nuts, fruits with occasionally eating/drinking sugar laden sweets once or twice a week.

I'm finding that breaking my addiction to "sweet" is hard. But like any addiction, it can be taken care of. I have to think healthy -not in the marketing sense, b/c that isn't healthy at all- but simply deal with why I'm wanting to eat sweets and not healthy foods.

That's probably the issue as it is with most things. Having a sugar free pudding or cream whip once in a while is probably ok for most people, but having too much of... well, anything will cause issues.

I will say however, that if you eat sweets in moderation there is no need for the diet stuff. I still have a chocolate bar once a or twice week because I love chocolate. It has no effect on my weight whatsoever. It's my gas station treat  I fill up my tank every 5-10 days and I buy a small chocolate bar every time  But other than that, no. Back in the day, I was eating this stuff everyday though and THAT was a problem. Again, it's more about quantity/frequency. You shouldn't completely cut yourself off the stuff you love, that doesn't work, ever. Just have it less of it and less frequently.

Billy, even a small amount makes me feel weird, and I'm not alone(see soul surfer's post). Stay away from Splenda.

That's awesome man! I am now in Week 5 of my "Bootcamp" challenge. Started at 215.8 and now down to 202.3 - Hoping to net out at about 195. Really dig this gym that I am at. It is hard overtime I work out. Figured it'd get easier as I go but every day feels like Week 1, Day 1.

Eating is super cleaned up. I was glad that when I was traveling for work I actually lost a couple pounds and made sure to hit the gyms at the hotels to stay on track. Eff ME! It is super easy getting fat. Not super easy de-fatting.

Nah - I had a pint of Ben & Jerry's a couple of nights ago. I didn't gain any weight and didn't get sick. I didn't lose any weight either. :D (they have frozen yogurt too)

As long as I stick to once or twice a week (or less) I'm good.

I just have to remember that my body releases insulin when I eat carbs.
Insulin turns sugar to fat and then tells the body to store it if I don't burn it right then.
Which I never do because I'm eating fats and proteins too.

Too many carb calories.

Then I crash after the insulin bump wears off and I get hungry again even tho' I don't need to eat b/c of stored fat.

I'll just gain weight. Not burning the calories i'm eating and the insulin is telling my body to store the sugar as fat = fat soulsurfer.

I have a sweet tooth too. But i'm retraining my tongue to like healthier foods. I haven't gained any weight...but don't always lose it either.
I'm learning where i'm at in regards to maintaining weight vs losing it and what I should do to keep losing weight.

Watch the artificial sweeteners. Your body processes them just like sugar. You can even get diabetes from them too. Not to mention that the chemicals will probably give you cancer.

You're sadly better off just eating real sugar. Or just having more beer. There's never enough beer.

Unflavored vodka has about 140 calories a shot. If you have very little sugar in your diet, you can drink this by the gallon. I just drink it straight. A lot of craft beers without fruit flavoring aren't really that bad either. I drink a lot of German beers, as their purity law keeps the beers very clean. I also drink a lot of craft beers, and did so while losing weight Especially Flying Dog IPA's...I love their beer. I've looked up the nutritional information on what I drink, and aside from being calorie dense (the beers that are 8-12% alcohol) they're not that bad.

I have a ton of excuses at the moment for going slow... graduation (even tho' no one in our family is), there's a pregnant women in our house = food, wife's bday is coming up = desserts, anniversary is coming up = food/desserts + not enough sex to offset, stress from over studying for my real estate agent's license...

Kick ass man! I have my weigh in tomorrow. Hoping to be between 200-204. My goal is 185 final weight but that's going to take some time for sure.
