Man you guys. I shaved completely; took a new position in compliance and safety, driving tankers and HazMat; gotta be clean shaven if I’m driving chlorine and something bad happens because the mask has to seal.

Haven’t seen my chin in 25+ years. Completely forgot how to shave it, just been doing cheeks and under my neck this whole time. Holy fuck my chin is a nightmare, seems like each hair grows in a completely different direction.

Wasn’t stupid with it though; went 70th and Sabre; zero cuts. Took like 15 minutes longer than normal though.

P texted a bunch of family/friends and they all cracked up; said I looked 25 and it’s sort of true. One of the reasons I grew a beard was because I kept getting ID’d for things I was old enough to buy decades ago.

Baby face is still under there.

Cons: no more beard, and I kind of look like a pussy without one.

Pros: I’m gonna go thru so much fuckin soap it’s gonna be unbelievable.

Mistakes were made today. I was trying to do this "focus on vintage" for the first 2 weeks of April.
1. Got a new TDR brush with a Milton TIP knot.
2. Used a hard shave stick
3. Used a razor I'm not used to using
4. Ended up with the brush soaking up all of my lather. Had to reapply. Then, realized I was shaving over a zit or something on my mustache. Sucks.

This C+S Cuba rocks though. Got it for like half price on a Maggard's black friday deal, I think.

8/10. Kind of sad. Shouldn't have used a shave stick with a new brush. Nor should I have done it with an unfamiliar razor. On top of that, I fucked up on my picture, and didn't get a pic of the top cap. That was the whole reason to use this razor. It's a Gillette 1931 or so Goodwill. REALLY cool razor. Oh well. I'm planning on using a bunch of vintage razors over the next couple of weeks. Maybe, I'll stick to Noble Otter or Saponificio Varesino soaps.

April Focus on the vintage. I've had this Black Beauty for like 14 years. I'm not sure I've ever used it before today. It shaved great. Blade chatter is a myth.

Myrsol Don Carlos rocks. This new TDR brush rocks. This Milton Tip Knot is beautiful. It's brown instead of the typical 2 band black color. I LOVE it.

I tried to go for a cool 70's look here. Great shave. Finally.

Broke out the Vector....not sure I'm ready for the BB as of yet, plus this narrow ass head gets under my nose really well, something I wasn't able to do with the Sabre yesterday.

I have a skin tag or something on the base of my neck under my chin, cut the fuck out of it lol

I had a skintag on my arm. They're impossible to get rid of yourself. The dermatologist took it off in 2 seconds with no pain for very little money. If I had known it would be so easy, I would have gone much sooner.

I screwed up today. I have a tdr brush shaped like an Easter egg. It was too late to grab it since I was in the shower with a wet brush. Oh well.

The Provence Sante soap was great. Big lather.

The lilac vegetal was weird as hell. Not as charming as I remember. I think my scent sense is changing.

Gem push button was fine. Not bad.

9/10 just because the veg is gross and I used the wrong brush for today.

Headed to TX for 5 weeks; taking GB #1, Blackbird, Vector and B&M Terror + Terror balm. Figure it’s gonna be hot/humid enough that I wouldn’t want to use anything else, be totally ready for a different shave by the time I get home.

Forgot to upload today’s pic; Blackbird with a Gillette SS, some TFS, Grizzly Bay with a TNS knot, and some 70th Anni for AS. Done with shave pics for that time unless Billy upgrades the forum while I’m gone, didn’t take my laptop.

Great shave today. Really took to the Slim Adjustable. I used these a lot when I was new. Never got a shave this good with one. Feels great. This Nivea cream was AWEOME. Beautiful. thick, foamy lather.

Rock and ROll!

Man. The fatboy sucks. Most overrated razor ever. It might be my least favorite vintage gillette. Seriously. MAYBE, this is what "chatter" feels like.

Fine cream = awesome.
Reuzel = not my favorite scent, but my Dad got it for me. So, it's special to me.
This TDR 25mm Milton Tip is rocking.

Not pictured - Guerlain L'homme Ideal Cologne = freakin awesome. Got it for like $20 at Marshalls. Kick ass.

9/10. Fuck the fat boy.

Coincidentally, I happened to use my Gillette Slim, today. Set the Slim on 6 with a Bruce Lee.
The Fatboy and Slim must have some differences in geometry because, the Fatboy is definitely a bit rougher.
A Midnight Dreary is number 2 on my list of favorites (a very close second to Bay Rum).
9/10... I was in a rush and barely got a DFS.

Pretty good shave.
1. This Noxzema cream probably won't make the cut. Crummy consistency with subpar lathering. Shaved fine though.
2. I had LOW expectations for this 40's tech.
A. I don't like techs, BUT, this is the older type with the triangular holes, so I needed to give it a shot
B. The asshole who sold it to me taped a label to the cap which ripped off half of the paint.
C. From the side, it looked like the blade was warped in the razor. I was worried.

It ended up shaving awesome. It was the highlight of the shave, really. India Permasharp 7OC was the perfect blade for it.

Barbedeaux rocked. ADP Fico Di Amalfi rocked.

I'll go 9/10 because the cream sucks.

I truly have a soft spot for Speick. Great shave. This active soap bowl wasn't the easiest to lather, but it shaved great, and it smelled like Speick. The aftershave and EDT were equally awesome.

This '66 flare tip superspeed was super mild. WAY different from the '59. I had never noticed how different the flaretips could be based on year of vintage. Got a really good shave, but I prefer the more aggressive '59.

Overall, my face feels awesome today.

Yeah, part of this "focus on the vintage" run I'm on has to do with recreating the memories of my pre marriage/kids life.

That includes products I used from 2006-2012. Especially shaving creams and aftershaves from Europe.

In 2006 there were no good artisan soaps. It was just glycerine meltnpours with candle scent added. There were NO artisan aftershaves. It was Euro stuff, Macy's stuff, or USA drugstore stuff.

I sometimes miss the simplicity. FWIW, there were NO new USA razors. NONE. You could get a Merkur, an Edwin Jagger, a Goodfella from New Zealand, or a Vintage Gillette. That was IT.

The first batch of Traderes were made in 2012.

Went a CVS the other day and a 10 pack, of 2 blade Gillette Sensors was $30!!! FTS!!!

I just checked, and the Goodfella didn't even come out until 2011. Pickins were SLIMMMMM back in the day. But, at least vintage razors were still dirt cheap. Now, if you want anything non-adjustable in decent shape, it's $30+.

My gold Gillette Goodwill sucked today. Felt like a bad tech. Hated it. inefficient and harsh

Talbot soap was really good. Nice scent. Like a pine forest, but not so wintery I can't use it in the spring.

Maol Aftershave is AWESOME. My skin felt great right away.

8/10 because of how much the goodwill sucked.

First shave with French connection. It smelled good. It shaved good. It was a pita to lather. Not sure if my brush had an incompatible residue or if my water just didn’t like it, but my arm got tired before my first pass. Then, I had to lather it again on the second pass. Kind of bummed. Still got a good shave.

Gillette long comb new is an awesome razor.

Royall rugby rocks. Smells like pickle flavored terre d’hermes. Good shit. Face feels good, but the epsilon kind of bummed me out.
