My partner had the first round of the AZ vaccine a month or so ago as she works in dentistry. I should be able to get mine from mid April as I'm now an old fucker.

As a teacher, I was eligible since the beginning of this month. I signed up on the state's website, got an appointment, but after a questionnaire at the end, I got an error message. I was locked out. I tried everyday for the whole week afterwards but everything was booked from the local university, Costco, CVS, the fire department, and even my own friggen health insurance.
Then last night, I tried and finally scored an appointment for next Sunday at the local university! Pfizer. My wife will get the Moderna tomorrow.
Seems to me, as a teacher, getting a vaccination should've been easier and quicker especially since there's a push to get schools to open again.

That’s unreal. The home office at my company was able to even get it done onsite and we’re just a packaging company (granted we are part of the food supply). I feel like if my privately held company was able to get it done onsite your school should have certainly been properly empowered to do the same. What stupid priorities.

As of last Friday, I went from the "we hope you don't die before we get to you" group into the "you can now be vaccinated - if you can find an open appointment and we have the supply available" group . I'm not stressing over it, but as soon as I can find an opening and get it scheduled, I'll roll up my sleeve. Looking forward to some measure of normality
I Love the smell of nitrocellulose in the morning. It smells like........Victory
Why you passing Pepi? You got the polio vaccine... this isn't any different. It's important for us old fold to get vaccinated.
Because we're at the point in the timeline of political tribalism that everyone where Pepi is from thinks vaccines are a Bill Gates plot to control your body. Source - my rural Indiana friends and family on my social media feeds.
My wife got hers, both shots gave her sides but nothing that lasted longer than a day. I've been trying my ass off to get mine but Texas isn't making it easy.
No, that isn't what I think. Don't put words in my mouth.

It'll be nice to get to spend time with family again, I have plenty on my wife's side who didn't feel comfortable being together with other family, they finally got to a point where they were okay if everyone wore masks. Now with most of us vaccinated, they'll feel comfortable hanging out again. My brother in law wants me to teach him guitar, so I've been doing it through the phone but soon, we can do it in person.
I sometimes like to imagine the world from a virus's point of view:
As I am brewing and replicating myself inside a person, I got my eyes on the next host that my spawn can enter and do their thing to further ensure our survival as a "species."
And it's a bitch when other humans around the current one I'm brewing inside of now either are too far away for my spawn to make that jump and successfully land, the entrances into the bodies are blocked enough by these friggen masks they wear, or the bodies that we do successfully get into already have antibodies waiting for us in riot gear.
And my time in this host is ticking away as it's starting to develop antibodies too or is dying.
What happened to those days when these humans didn't believe we even existed, or weren't scared of us, were too busy arguing about individual rights, were too skeptical about the security systems that were being given away? Man, those were the days. We hardly even had to jump. Our hosts took us to more hosts! Hosts everywhere! Man, when's the next holiday?
My take on herd-immunity too which you didn't ask for:
A burglar prefers the path of least resistance. When it enters a neighborhood where most of the houses are secured, it loses interest and goes to another neighborhood. In this case, even the few houses that were not secured benefit.
Another: An ultra-safe-and-aware driver surrounded by idiot, not-paying-attention drivers has a higher chance of getting into a collision than an idiot, not-paying-attention driver surrounded by ultra-safe-and-aware drivers.
My apologies for the over-simplification of these topics.
I'd just like to say that hesitance toward these vaccines is warranted and does not put a person in the "anti-vax" camp. Your reasons for being hesitant might come from the same conspiratorial modes of thinking which would make you "anti-vax" or they might come from a whole other set of reasonable concerns.
Put me in the reasonable concerns camp. I'm not flatly rejecting these vaccines but I'll be cautiously observant until this has actually completed what would be normal duration of testing. I just want to thank each and every person who is getting the vaccine, as your willingness to be a part of this larger clinical trial will provide me with the information needed over the next couple years before I get it.

Sounds like vaccination NIMBYism to me.
