INGD Nixed, so INGD (Emphasis on the "G") UPDATED

Post by IndyWS6 »

You bastards didn't talk me out of my impulse Breedlove acoustic purchase from Musician's Friend SDOTD last week, so I placed the order. I hadn't heard a damn thing until yesterday and, long story short, they advertised something they didn't have - and they don't know when they will be able to get it. I told them to cancel it. I have three acoustics and didn't really need it anyway.

The grill at my GF's house is all but shot so I've been looking at new ones. The plan was to move my Weber Genesis to her house and get a newer, possibly higher-end, grill for my house. I had settled on a Napoleon Prestige 500 series, but the with the return of funds from the acoustic cancellation, I decided on the Prestige Pro 500 model. 80,000 total BTU, 4 bottom burners, infrared rear burner with rotisserie, infrared side "sear" burner (up to 1800° F, ready in 30 seconds) plus bells, whistles and other doo-dads. Waiting on an email to schedule the truck delivery. Probably 10-14 days out...

That's a serious grill. My in-laws have the bigger 6 burner one and it's amazing. I've actually managed to fill it up with meat and veggies, which is great.

Nice!... If I had a bigger outdoor area, I'd have seriously considered a larger one. I don't necessarily need it, but that has never stopped me  It's not unusual to have 100 chicken wings (or 20+ hamburger patties) on the grill at a single time. Drunk ass hooligans eat a lot of food when hanging by the pool :D

 :thu: I would happily gnaw on charred meat from that contraption.

P.S. There's a cooler full of PBR just out of frame right?

The grill was delivered last Wednesday, but I got sidetracked by some other things and finished the assembly today. I love my Weber Genesis - it's a great grill - but everything about the Napoleon is bigger/thicker/stronger. Just more "commercial" from a build-quality standpoint. I fired it up and got it good and hot to burn off the manufacturing oils. Part of me feels like I HAVE to put some thick ribeye steaks on the sear burner for the inaugural meal, but part of me wants to put Cornish Game Hens on the rotisserie. It will have to wait until the weekend, but I can't really go wrong either way...
