Vape things
Trying to kick a 30+ year habit; buddy recommended an Aegis Legend.
Sent P to the store and told her what I was thinking, and she brought back that, batteries, a charger and some bloody orange strawberry shit.
I don’t hate it. I bounced to work for what was supposed to be a couple hours and it turned into 9+. I hit this vape thing maybe 2 times an hour for like 5-6 times.
I had a bit of anxiety and snapped at a cute girl I work with; she was sort of shocked and asked what up. Told her the story, forgiven.
I think I might be able to make this work. I’ve been a 3/4 to a pack a day smoker for a long ass time, and I smoked 4 cigarettes today. I haven’t done that in 25+ years, I’m sort of shocked.
Anyone else use a mod to quit smoking? Was it hard and how long did it take? Be cool if I could quit entirely, this shit is expensive and I could use the $ to buy a guitar I’ll never touch cause I barely play anymore...

Re: Vape things
Stein, i wish you the best of luck quitting. You will be so much better off.
I started smoking on and off at 15. By the time I was 18, I was smoking a pack a day, until I quit at 44.
Even at one pack a day, quitting was fucking hard.
What made me finally quit was the desire to surf Pipeline in Hawaii.
I wanted to surf Pipeline while I was still in good shape and before I got too old. So, at 44, I quit smoking and chewed Nicorette gum which didn't really help.
I started going to the gym (3 blocks away), jogging and I went to the beach as often as I could so I would be able to hold my breath after a wipeout on 18 foot waves.
After a year of no smoking and getting into the best shape I could, I bought my plane tickets and the g/f and I headed for Oahu.
When we got there, the waves were a piddly 6 feet!
Waves are weather dependent so, there's really no way to know when to buy your plane ticket. Still, I had a great time and I haven't had a cigarette since.
Moral of the story: I needed something bigger than my smoking habit to make me want to quit. Find that something and you will be able to quit.
GOOD LUCK BRO!!!!!

Re: Vape things
I smoked on and off years ago - just quit one day, and that was that.
My wife, however has smoked for over 45+ years. She is taking Chantix - it definitely helps, but she seems to think just taking it will magically make her stop smoking, which will not happen without her putting some effort into it.
But it does work for people who want to quit. It's even free on our insurance, you should look into it.
Oh, that and a medical marijuana card,........

Re: Vape things
Yeah I switched from smoking to vaping, vaped for 2 years then quit completely.
The best thing about vaping is you can gradually reduce your nicotine intake. I started out with 9mg liquid, then went down to 6, then 3 and finally 0mg. By the time I was at zero, I knew I had the nicotine addiction under control, I just had to beat the actual vaping habit, which I did in a few months.
So yeah, it's a good plan. But the one thing you shouldn't do is double dip (vape and smoke at the same time). That's the worst possible outcome.
But if you're able to replace smoking with vaping completely then you're in good shape to move towards quitting eventually.
Start with a heavy nicotine amount if you have to. Even 12mg is fair game. Whatever helps you to stop cigarettes completely. Then go from there.

I’m sitting out on my deck slightly drunk and smoking a cig. Gonna try tomorrow to do 0 cigs, see what happens.
Man the anxiety wasn’t something I was expecting.
Wish me luck fellas, thanks for the support!!

Go to a good vape store and check some e-juices. You may need to start with a higher nicotine level so you don't have cravings or anxiety. Getting the right juice is key for this to work out.
Flavor is important too, if you find that you're missing the taste of cigarettes too much, get a tobacco flavored juice. That helps. I started with tobacco menthol flavors because I smoked Marlboro Menthols. It made the transition easier. Then later I started experimenting with other flavors.
But going straight from cigarettes to some fruity shit can be hard.
Also, the coil you're using can make a difference. Sub-ohm coils (0.5ohms or lower) will give you a better throat hit that is more like a cigarette.
You can dial your setup in to make the transition really easy. Find a good local vape shop and talk to someone who knows their shit.
This is very much like guitar playing, you're dealing with electronics here and having the right "rig" can make all difference.

Re: Vape things
I recommend covid 19; it stopped me smoking!
I went cold Turkey, but then I was feeling pretty shit. I haven't had a ciggie for a good few weeks now and, tbh although the craving is still there a bit, I'm not missing them that much, I find after meals is the hardest, I am using mints etc.
The 1st day is the hardest, once you get through day 1 then you've got it beaten psychologically, 2nd day is a little easier.
You can do it, best of luck.

I smoked for 22 years and quit just before I turned 40. Vape things weren't an option at the time so I went with nicotine gum. It helped tremendously that I was highly motivated to quit, as I was stuck in an endless cycle of sinus infection/bronchitis/repeat.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Re: Vape things
I started vaping 7 years ago to quit smoking. Still vaping, I see no reason to quit.
When you start you need higher nicotine percentage if you're trying to quit smoking.
Like 18mg or so. I get my eliquid at vapemall.com I buy it in bulk.

Re: Vape things
Can’t order shit by mail as I live in UT and they won’t ship it here.
Getting there, using 3mg stuff and it’s ok.
Starting to really not like smoking. It’ll be like 2-3 times a day and I’ll feel like I really need a cig and I’ll smoke half and then chuck the rest. They’re actually pretty fuckin gross anymore.
Only thing is that vape isn’t good when I’m drinking, that’s when I really want to smoke. Might have to quit drinking too.

Nice dude. If you're doing well with 3mg you're way ahead of the game already.
