I mean, I ain’t gonna get all weird cause there’s snow in mid April. It’s certainly happened. In my lifetime... I think... lol

But it did kinda suck to wake up and see 3 fuxking inches. I know it’ll be gone by the days end, but I won’t say i liked it even a tiny bit!

Meals are running everyday through the end of the year. I am assuming they will hopefully continue into the summer? There are a ton of kids who need that assistance.

I haven’t talked about it here yet, but fuck... it’s been really hard for my wife and I working from home and having all the kids doing their homeschooling. Los Angeles schools seem like they are ahead of most school districts that close. My kids are still getting assignments and being graded on it. They attend some zoom meetings with their teachers, take online tests and quizzes that were set up.

It’s a good thing but it’s very hard. Thank God we have 3 desktops, two laptops, and a tablet for each. And so far our internet bandwidth has held up. We’re just not licensed and professionally trained teachers.

Most districts in our state (from what I know) are all voluntary work till year end. Things will shake out once next school year hits, as far as how they'll address the missed instruction time/covered material.

We have two 6ft+ teen/early adults here. So fortunate, compared to having to work at home parents juggling multiple toddlers/early elementary age kids. Mojo sent to you people. That would be tough.

I gotta say, it's a really good time to NOT have kids right now... :snax:

Teachers should demand brain surgeon wages when they return to work. I get the feeling from social media that most parents would gladly pay to get rid of their kids right now.

My son is 20 y.o., lives in another state and still drives me crazy with his daily whining. I can't even imagine the situation you're in.

My GF's daughter and husband are both teachers (different local school districts) as is his mom and some close friends. There are already more than a few strong hints that returning to school in the fall may be delayed or significantly altered. At first, it sounded like "what if" discussions to prepare for a contingency. Now, it sounds like there is a reasonable expectation that will be the case. Yesterdays "social distancing may extend into summer" comments will certainly cause people to re-think timelines...

This is well underway. Even if our state isn't saying it aloud. Or much else. The biggest challenge will be getting internet to those who don't have it. Who pays for it and how does it get rolled out in the easiest way possible. Interesting times.
