Fan Boys

Both loving tributes to Star Wars back when Star Wars was actually a thing some of us nerds liked. Before the dark times. Before the house of mouse.

In actuality, Fan Boys is the better film, but both of them are goofy as fuck. The story behind Fan Boys is almost as crazy as the movie itself. Apparently it was made but the studio wanted them to take out the heart of the story. One of the boys is dying, which literally drives the entire story. Without that, the film would make zero sense. So rather than release it gutted, they shelved it until someone came along and said, "no, this is fucking idiotic to have this great film just sitting there. Release the bitch." Kevin Smith was one of the people lobbying hard for it to finally get released. He and Jason have a pop-in with the dude that played the donkey fucker in Clerks 2 that makes me every time.

Then there's the classic moment where Jay Baruchel sees his online girlfriend for the first time and he just starts screaming, "I'm a pedophile! I'm a pedophile!"
