Mazes and Monsters all day, every day!

I loved the book when I was a kid. But I rewatched the movie again here within the last year-ish? It did not really hold up

The last movie I watched in a theater was Big. Drove back to my apartment afterwards in a 1975 Camaro with my lady while listening to Kiss-Rock and Roll Over.

Funnily enough, first death involving covid-19 in SoDak was a dude that traveled from Florida with the guy working on our marketing director's house. Now the dude working on his house is sick, and he's on self-imposed lock-down. Still, he was in and out of the building the entire time that dude was working on his house, so we could be swirling the same drain at the moment.

Sioux Falls looks like a ghost town this week. The economic impact of this is gonna be brutal.

They're not sure yet but it looks like you can, and the 2nd time is worse.

They aren’t sure of a LOT of things. But getting reinfected and it being “worse” goes against most of human biology of building immunity. I also heard an infectious disease expert claim you do build immunity to it. So, wherever you heard that from is in direct contrast to what I, and many others, have heard.

There are reports out of China about people being re-infected. I can't say how true they are only that's what I've heard.

As far as the immunity, that's simply untrue. I forget all the science behind it, but basically the 2nd time, your immune system freaks the fuck out and causes more damage than the virus itself.

That's why they never developed a vaccine for SARS. In animal testing their immune systems went nuts when re-introduced to the virus after taking the vaccine.

yikes.....

I'm also expecting some more cases to pop up since there was a woman that came down on a flight from NYC, landed here then went on to Guyana and has tested positive. All the flight staff are from here and many people would have gotten off the flight here as well.... airline has notified the passengers and staff and the staff have been put in home quarantine but who knows if there there are any people on that flight walking around spreading the virus all now....

That's the thing about the incubation period, people just don't know whether they have it or not and could be spreading it around for up to two weeks without showing symptoms.

In the US at least, they've been downplaying it enough that it took up until now to start seeing real action to combat the spread, and even so it's just canceling large gatherings and events. Personal quarantine seems to be up to the individual. And considering the number of years we've been told we need to come to work regardless of how sick we are in this country, well, that's gonna be an uphill climb.

Just saw a story saying that it can still be spread up to 37 days after you feel better. It just hangs around in your respiratory system.

Two of my grandsons came down tonight to talk with me. The media has both of them scared to death. Their voice were even shaking :( I talked with them for 2 hours about all this and now they seem to be a bit more calm. This shit is getting out of hand :(

Its crazy but the media is basically non informative these days (I realize that we still dont know things on this particular topic) but it basically incites hysteria, emotional response and wants is at each others throat and divide us when it has a chance to, and they are implying that your racist or xenophovia if you say wuhuan or chinese virus.. :freak:  :freak:

This is not tinfoil or ZOMG stuff etc its true the media has just fallen into the toilet of stupidity

We had some camcels at work this week as well, and it will probably get worse before it gets better, lets just really hope its sooner than later

All public schools in Indianapolis closed for the next 2 (maybe 3?) weeks - basically, extending Spring Break. Most public gatherings cancelled, etc.

a couple of k-12 schools have announced they are closing doors as well... a few are being alarmist IMO but one of the schools is where the guy who has been confirmed to have Corona has his kid, so they are testing the entire class and putting the school on lock down which makes sense to me....

There was a report this morning that Jamaica has got 3 new cases two of them passed through Trinidad on their way from Malaysia so that complicates things now.... we already have a bunch of travel from some countries on lock down I can see the list expanding soon

I'm more scared of the fear and the ignorance surrounding the virus more than I am of the virus itself.

I guess what makes this unique and panic-worthy is the not-knowing aspect of it. In this not-knowing stage, people conjure up all sorts of ideas and act upon it.

We just have to stay still for a period. Yes, our economy will take a hit, but better a battered economy than dead people - welp, for most people with souls at least.

I have a friend who's a flight attendant (red flag). She lives in Japan where they closed all public schools over two weeks ago. I emailed her about it and she said her kids go to a private school so they're still open. Then a few days ago, she texts me saying, "We just landed! They closed my kids school so we hopped on a flight" (her parents still live here in California).

I was like  .

She's a nice person n' all, but however an over-reaction this may be, I don't think she understands the seriousness of all of this. Just eliminate all non-essential travel.
