I'm sick of these fuckin things....I get all weirded out every time I find a new one, and I found a new one last night; decided to do some research.

This is a site that lists 400 or so of these things, and a LOT of them I don't agree with. Popular movies, TV shows, car logos etc....

The Anne Rice thing weirds me out.....I read the Vampire series maybe 5-6 times, and I know what the title is. The Matrix thing? Where'd all the memes come from if he never said it in the film? Sex In The City? That is the correct title, fuck what anyone says. Breakdancing in the 30s huh? Freddy Krueger wearing a different colored sweater and ALWAYS HAVING WORN THAT SWEATER? Wes Craven says it was always green and black. Ted Kaczynski being an MK-Ultra victim and this is always known, despite the fact that for as far back as I can remember that program was an urban myth constantly denied be the G, but hey, fuck it it's out now so we'll blame the Unabomber on that too? WTF?

To be clear....I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I don't believe the world ended in 2012 and that we're all living in an alternate reality blah blah blah...this is an interesting phenomenon to me and I can't fucking explain it.

which is all well and good....I can buy that for A person, or 2-3 people, but when 50,000+ people all remember something a certain way and the whole of everyone they know tells them something else, and the whole of the internet does as well.....it just wigs me out, ok?

On the Freddy/Wes Craven thing:
We just rewatched all those movies, and the several hour long "Never Sleep Again" feature about the entire franchise that had several interviews with Wes, the producers, the directors, the actors, etc. Wes swears up and down the sweater was always red and green. He did it intentionally because those colors clash so horribly on film that it disturbs the eyes. He also said there was a single scene where they had to cut the sweater off of him due to an accident with a stunt, and they forgot to bring the extra sweaters so he was stuck wearing a green and black sweater for that one scene because it was all they could find to finish the day. So I'm not sure where people are getting that he swears it's always black and green, unless somebody specifically cut out just those few moments of that behind the scenes special and swear that's him telling the whole story.

RIGHT?! It was always red/green....I dunno where those people are getting it either. Called my brother who's a huge fan and he swears up and down it's green/black.

Fuckin Volkswagen logo pisses me off too...I owned like 5-6 of them, that fuckin space between the V and the W was never there on any of them....the last one I owned was a 2013(?) CC, and I just went back to an old phone and checked pics, it's a whole logo, no spaces. WTF.

If you remember something CLEARLY AND DISTINCTLY and it's 'wrong' and supposedly never WAS that way, that's the Mandela Effect.

Name of it comes from a great many people that absolutely believe and remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s.....they remember watching his funeral on television, etc....when it's not true. He was released and went on to become president and died in 2013. Which version do you remember?

I read a lot of geopolitical books so, I remember Mandela did not die in the 1980's or 90's but, I wouldn't have been able to tell you the actual year pf his death.
I also remember Mandela retiring and Mbeki taking over. I seem to remember Mandela being alive when Zuma took over after Mbeki.
Mbeki's surgeon general was recommending beet and lemon juice to fight off HIV and AIDS. The WHO (not the band) stomped on that.
Zuma was the commie... now all SA politicians call each other, "Comrade"... as they do in most neighboring countries.
I was fascinated when I found out that Cuban soldiers were fighting in Africa and Che Guevara had contemplated taking over an African nation for his own.

Hahaha I didn't get this question but I spent the first half of my childhood in Brazil and the bunny was a Duracell thing. It's even a slang used to describe hyperactive people down there..."coelho Duracell"

I got a 25%, which is unaffected. They aren't testing right or wrong, but how much Mandela effect you have. I got the lyrics to "Don't Stop Believin" from Journey right, but received 0 points, because a majority of people think the first verse says "he took the midnight train," even though the verse is about a "small town girl." The test if flawed because a majority of people remember incorrectly on some things. It would be more interesting if it only tested the things where a majority of people get wrong, which looks to be about 286 out of 400. I also disagree that all of them are Mandela effect, some of them are just people not knowing shit and giving a wrong answer anyway, e.g. how many U.S. Presidents have been shot or where New Zealand is on a map.

Me too. Unless Lucas changed it in the special edition, which throws off the Mandela theory on that one.

I’ll check my theatrical version some time. I’m curious.
