Told you guys last vent post, used to run with a crew of 50. We were close, and one of my best friends named his first kid after me and made me his godfather. I taught this kid to swim, taught him to drive, to play guitar, to deal respectfully with women.

Been friends with this guy almost 30 years, love his wife to death, his kids are my kids, take vacations to see them and them to see us.

Got a text half an hour ago from his wife, my godson killed himself. I don't know what to say to them, I don't know how to talk to myself. I should have seen this coming, I was his closest outlet besides his parents and friends. None of them ever thought this would happen, neither would I.

Was talking to my daughter, who's had like 5 friends kill themselves in the last 4 months.

Don't they get it's all temporary, none of this shit lasts forever?! I've had rough times, thought about it, what gets me thru is the fact that it's not gonna last. I don't get why these kids don't get that....

God man, this is horrible. Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be said or done that will ease your and his family's pain right at this moment. Only time will do, but never completely.
Even still, stay close to your friends now, even if you don't know what to say to them. Don't worry about having the right things to say right now, or even having anything at all to say. That's an insurmountable amount of pressure. Just be present around them. It's important to be surrounded by loved ones in situations like this.
