We have our 18th this Spring ,but we lived together for 5 years before getting married \m/ That is the trick kids live together for 3 to 5 first and it will tell you everything you need to know . ;)

IDK, If I had done that, I would probably be a barfly/predator/loner now. And, I would probably be dead.

So, it's a blessing and a curse going into it blindly not knowing into what one is getting one's self.

I'm more of BroSlinger's mindset, though I didn't really get the curse part. Our relationship was pretty sped up in the beginning. Moved in in a couple weeks, married in just a few months, though truth be told the mindset was there long before the ceremony.

I think it's a personal thing. I wouldn't tell anybody that they'll pull through doing what we did, and not everybody needs long term living together to know what's what.

I know my cousin had a ten year policy. Made it to ten living together, got married, walked in on her banging two dudes on the couch within two weeks. So, ya know, that worked out.

I will say people that knew both of us had been encouraging us to date for years before it finally happened. So there must have been something in the air for us even before we were aware of it. :idk:

The blessing is not knowing what you're getting into so, once you're married you're more likely to put extra effort into work things out.
The curse is also not knowing what you're getting into so, you have no opportunity to avoid a brutal divorce.

it's not for everyone , no rules really apply , no guarantees , nothing . And it may take a few tries for some folks . Nothing wrong with that either . Peace & Happiness is all anyone could hope for in this world . It's nice to be able to share that with someone close . Otherwise ghey unibomber at 50 + so good luck
