I think I’m in a minority but I’ve preferred slate drums over several others based on hearing clips of all here on GGF.

I think that they say SSD5 sounds a bit more natural than SSD4. I’ll try to post a comparison soon.

I have found with SD3 and EZD2 that the room, overhead and ambient mics are set way too high on the presets. Backing those sliders down can tighten things up significantly. It's seriously out of hand with how splashy they can be.

I've just always felt like the even though Slate sounds a little more processed that it's more mix ready straight away. They say the 5 sounds a bit more natural so we'll see. I still haven't installed it :lol:
