Thank you for the condolences and also for being the best distraction I could have ever wished for over the last few weeks. And six years for that matter.

Thank you all. I am heartbroken but trying to hold tough for dad. He and mom were married for more than 57 years.
He is crushed.

Re: Mom Is Not Well.
wow sorry to hear the news
57 years, something to be VERY proud of I know that doesn't help right now, but that's true love! Just try and be strong and also keep dad busy/occupied as much as possible during these trying and tough times

Sucks man. Nothing will replace Mom, but she'll always be in your heart.
It'll get better, just takes time.

Re: Mom Passed Yesterday.
Thanks Gene. I am doing about as well as I can. Not to sound hokey or anything, but, when my head hit the pillow Monday night, she was with me. It wasn't a "hey how are you?" conversation. It was just a feeling and instinct that I have to keep it together for Dad. He is having a really hard time with it. So, as much as I may want to drop to my knees and wail, I can't. She made it clear that I have to hang tough for him since I am here living in the house. Otherwise we'd both probably give up.
I know it will hit me hard at some point and Friday and Saturday are going to be fucking brutal. But, that is what we all signed up for. It's also because of her that we are the tight family that we are.

Im so sorry brother. I can just tell by the way you speak of her she was a fantastic lady! The past few years in my own family have been very tragic. I know how you feel. Love your Dad with everything you have, he really needs you.May the Lords peace be with you brother.

Thanks and I am sorry to hear you are having a rough stretch.
The wake is tonight and the funeral is tomorrow. I am doing my best to get ready for a very hard 24 hour stretch.

Being 100% serious here:
Bring a couple bottles of liquor to the funeral home so you can have a toast with your friends and family.
You'll remember sharing a drink with your loved ones the most from these upcoming days.
