9-11 was gnarly, man. Watching footage of people crying/dying/rescuing at ground zero is humbling. Seems like yesterday. God bless everyone involved. Lots of courage that day.

Yes, many thanks to the people who gave their lives to save lives and defend us, on that day and all the days since. 18 years of sacrifice.

We decide if those sacrifices have been worth it by living as Americans worthy of the freedom paid for in blood. Don't let it slip away.

True story. I was traveling Florida for vacation later that day on 9/11. Of course, flight got canceled. But when the airports re-opened we decided to still go. There was maybe 11 people on our flight that day. It was a night flight but not middle of the night. Maybe 10pm or sumthin. Of course a guy with a turbin was on that flight. Lol. Which c’mon, you all know you’d be figuring out how you were gonna beat his ass if he got up wrong, too!!

Anyway, fly into Miami and I swear we were the only people in the entire airport. Definitely pretty surreal. Had a nice vacation :D

But for sure, life definitely changed on that day. I also remember working on finishing the job I had that day(flooring contractor) and I was late cause I was watching it all unfold. I get there, the hausfrau had no idea. And I’m like turn on the TV we are under attack! She watched formlike 25 seconds and started doing laundry or sumthin and I’m just watching it for another 10 minutes until she comes over and says, “Umm are you going to get to work today?” Unreal

Muslims don't wear turbans though. They wear a certain hat or a head scarf. Hommie was a Sikh. Sikhs are chill, unless provoked, and then they get real. They were India's warrior class traditionally. But every Sikh I've ever met was cool.

Dude it was 2001. I wasn’t even on the internet yet. Lol. How would I know about his culture then? And Osama bin Laden wore a turban, no? That’s the picture of the ENEMY on that day!

Luckily i didn’t have to kill him

Yeah actually I'm a little wrong here. Muslims do wear certain styles of turbans. But their hat and head scarf is more common. I just looked into this

But in the USA we're always mistaking Sikh's for Muslims, and the Sikh men always wear the turban. Several Sikhs have been attacked being mistaken as Muslims.

One group is peaceful and part of everyday America life , the other is a murderous ,rich and powerful organization that wants to kill all Americans on Earth . Know your headdresses ...

The Sikh actually have a long history fighting the Muslims. In fact the Muslims persecution of Sikh's led directly to Khalsa. The men are given a Kirpan (dagger) and told to defend "needy, suppressed ones, to defend righteousness and the freedom of expression." I always thought that was cool.

Made the mistake of watching a documentary on 9/11 pretty soon after it happened, it's one of those things I wish I never watched. There was a scene where they were filming in the lobby as both towers burned. I will never forget the sounds of the bodies hitting the pavement after plummeting dozens of floors to their death. To think of the people who had to make that decision of how to die and then to take that leap... Haunts me to this day.

For anyone wanting to watch a good doc on 9/11, check out "The Falling Man". It not any kind of idiot conspiracy bullshit. It's about people that had to jump and one iconic picture of the falling man that enraged a lot of people on 9/12.

It is both incredibly sad, but also strangely uplifting.

^maybe I need to check that out, if only for the uplifting part...

I was blown away at how many conspiracy theorists came out of the woodwork on social media. I found myself wondering if these people were even alive when it happened and/or just watched too many conspiracy vids on YT.

I watched Loose Change and tried to watch a couple of others. But they are all idiot bullshit. The only one I sat through that I felt was interesting was "9/11 Trillions: Follow the Money". It chased a paper/money trail and actually made sense.

Obviously we'll never know everything we want to about that day.

there was and still are a lot of unanswered questions .. that leaves it open for conspiracy . There are more headscratching wtf's then anything that makes sense so yeah we may never know , but we know who did it and why and they are still trying to harm Americans . It's nice not having orange & red alerts everyday but it ain't over.
