Razorock Jaws = Fucking epic. This thing was made for me. My first true BBS in a LONG time.
West Coast Fougere CREAM. Killer stuff. Kind of adds a step since I'm a face latherer, but oh well. The scent is epic, and so is the performance.
Soap COmmander Endurance splash. = burn confirmed. Skin food = allergy food. Bummer. This started my day on a fucking downward trajectory. I sure hope it improves.

going 9/10 because of the sheer epicness of everything up until the aftershave.

HOFFRITZ SLANT - medium agro
Astra Platinum Blade
ZEAL Shave Soap Sample - from Soap Commander - nice berry scent, better than average protection
Nancy Boy Signature Aftershave - it may be ghey but, it's AWESOME!!! Peppermint is a nice old time scent. Feels like it has menthol in it.

Used the three pass method that Mantic59 described and got a nice, BBS without any stretching.
The Slant was more agro than I'm used to so, I wound up with a bunch of paper cuts - it could have easily done the job in two passes.

Old standby popped up in the rotation

Couple tiny weepers....I think the Timeless handles these G Plats for longer than the Ikon does, this was maybe 4 or 5, and the one in the .95 is on like 7.

Give this an 8.5/10

I haven’t done a numbered shave in a while, but here we go:

From Sunday:
German 37, Cremo Reserve, Platinum black, alum, Proraso Green: Best shave I’ve had in ages. Seriously, a 9.5/10. Love, love, LOVE the blade, and the aftershave is just the business. The razor is going to take some work, though, and I’ll explain why in a bit.
Tuesday: SLOC, Cremo blue, platinum yellow, and no aftershave: A work shave, but still pretty good. Nothing exciting. 9/10.
Tonight: German 37, Cremo Silver Birch Water, Derby whatever comes with the razor, Stupefacente: Raw, and had weepers. It is a fast shave, and, when you’ve used the damn thing twice, you aren’t what others would call an expert. 8/10, because Stuepfacente is still astringent, and truly a perplexing aftershave. It is my absolute favorite, for that reason.

I’m packing my stuff for the move, and I am keeping the kit to a minimum. 42, a few randomly chosen blades, and the 37. Maybe Cremo red. That will have to do until I move into my final place in Madison.

I still use a cordless Braun shaver from 10 years ago. All this high end shaving stuff is hilarious.

Some bad choices here. Lol.

This razor does not like this blade.

Soap was okay

Aftershave was great.

I think I just like the Sputnik with it. I think they were made to be together.

I’ll have to revisit the blue platinum with it.

Damn. This shave didn't go so well either. :( I thought I had the dart tamed and dialed. I guess I should be using soaps with which I am more familiar.

8/10. Result was good, it was just "rough".

Holy crap. This was AWESOME. I love my Sabre. I love the coated Stainless Gem blades.

The Proraso Yellow Foam just rules.

This Barbedeaux aftershave is WEEEIIRRDD. It's almost viscous. The scent goes on like sugary windex for about 2 seconds, then it smells like nothing. Made my face feel great. I bought it direct from the guy who imports/makes it. He threw in a free extra bottle and a free razor. I love this company.

Great shave considering I was slightly hungover. I'm going 10/10. I'm glad since I was having a string of rough shaves.

Shave # 4 with the Hoffritz Slant and Astra Platinum. 3 and 4 were nice... the slant was very agro on shave 1 and 2.\
Was the RasoZero the soap that burned you guys (Broslinger and Steiny)? My face is a bit warm but, I can't tell if it's the slant or the soap?

Ummm, that's a pre shave cream, and YES, it's the one that burned both of us, BIGLY.

That's interesting you just shaved with it. I guess pre shave creams share a lot of ingredients with soaps/creams.

Does it lather??

FWIW, the Rasozero "soap" that looks almost identical works great.

It says Crema Purissima per Barba (shaving cream)

Preshave? I had no idea... I guess I have to brush up on my Italian!

It produced a heavy, yogurt lather... which I like but, it didn't feel as slick as most soaps or creams.
I remember seeing the pic, that Steiny posted, of the rash that it gave him, so I was very hesitant. Today, I was in a crazy mood and went for it.
My face definitely feels a bit warm but, no rash.... so far!

You would have felt it right away like battery acid if you had the same allergy stein and I do.

It was excruciating. I’ll bet it would leave scars if I didn’t get it off immediately.

Ha, that’s nuts you shaved with it.

It was 4 seconds and I had to get that shit off my face immediately.

The pic I posted of what it looked like after was 8 seconds of it on there, and that was two days later.

Decided after a conversation with a B&B/IG guy last night (he's finished 11 tubs of soap in the last year) that I was gonna try to down one, as I never have yet.

Decided on this one....the scent is light enough that I wouldn't mind using it every day, the lather is great, and after today's shave where I drowned it almost to death I think I can do this. Dude said something that made me think...."I never had a bad shave with too much lather"...made sense to me. Fuck am I saving this stuff for? I have like 20 lbs of soap here, I'm not going to run out anytime soon even loading the shit out of it, so why not amirite?

Also, decided to grab a Blackbird.....maybe 1st/2nd week of September. Mostly what I've found out is I'd be able to use my little fat handles on it, which was my big concern; I'm not a thin long handle guy, my back muscles won't let me be.

Figure even if it downs the Timeless, I'd keep the T for a backup, or vice versa.

Any tips Geno?

Stein,

Did you already order your blackbird? I highly recommend black oxide steel with a short handle. Safety bar vs open comb is your choice. I haven’t decided which one I like more.

Btw, the styling is based on the sr71 blackbird. That’s why he offered the black oxide. As it ages, it looks just like a black airplane. It’s beautiful.

My tip = don’t be afraid to shave at a steep, nearly perpendicular angle with it. There will be more blade feel than the .95, but it’s not crazy. It’s perfect.
