Congrats, hope it will serve you well the next 100k

BTW - good taste in cars :hi5: I enjoy my MINI as well and it is a surprisingly good gig ride, just had a 412 loaded some weeks ago ...

yeah my Tracker is a 2003 and it's 130k and I even drove it cross country from Vegas and all over the East Coast recently for gigs. 100k since 2014 is a lot

Minis are really nice cars. I've always wanted one but I couldn't fit my gear in it. But now that I have a Kemper :hmm:

Thanks man! I've been changing the oil with full synthetic every 3k to 4k miles and I changed the trany fluid and filter at 60K.
I never had a car get more then 120k before something major happened like a blown transmission or piston rod but, I'm shooting for 200k on this one.
Minis have a surprisingly large amount of space...
I can squeeze in all my gear and the bass players so, we usually go to gigs in my car; the drummer and singer go in one of their cars.

I drive to work every day... 33 miles way and it usually takes 90 minutes each way... 2 1/2 hours when its raining.
This means that, my engine has more wear than most cars that traveled the same distance without traffic. I've been really good about changing the oil every 3k miles.
During July and August with everyone on vacation, there is a lot less traffic and it only takes 40 minutes.
I'm dreading September!

Man, I've been hoping that I get fired from my job so I can find something closer to home... which is why my post count has skyrocketed. The drive is really starting to get to me.
I just can't seem to bring myself to quit.
I used to like going to the beach after work but, these days, I don't get home until 7-7:30pm.

You'd be surprised how much gear you can get into a Mini but, I think you'd have trouble with all the gear that you and Kim are using.... it's a good thing Kim doesn't play drums!

I do beat on it quite a bit so, if I want to make it to 200k, I'll have to take off the lead shoes.

My advice: keep burnouts to a minimum, no wheelies, and as tempting as it is, don't jump those dried out creek beds!

I'm 6" 0"... I though we were about the same height?
The front has a lot of room and I never feel like I'm in a small car at all.
It's the back two seats that you don't want to sit in. There is only about 6 or 7" for your legs.
My bass player sat in the back once... he's a wide guy and he was having a hard time breathing!
My g/f who is 5'8 doesn't have any issues sitting in the back but, you don't want to go on a long trip in the back seat.
It's very rare for me to have anyone sit in the back so, I always leave the two back seats folded down.

The newer generation MINIs are great for tall people. I am 6'6 and I sit much more comfortable than in the Mazda I owned before.

As for carrying gear I can easily travel with a halfstack and in case I need more space I borrow my wife's Clubman :D

The Duotone head and pedalboard fits perfectly into the trunk

The real question here is what does Rubato win when he hits a 100k posts?

Yeah one of my exes had a mini and I did carry my rig in it a few times. Definitely doable, but it was like playing Tetris. There was ONE way it would fit and one way only. If you messed it up you had to start over

They're really cool cars though.
