Seriously? (POS Truck Content)

Post by IndyWS6 »

I pulled into a parking lot at a hospital yesterday for an appointment and noticed a beat-up old truck riding low. Really low. It didn't take much to figure out why when I got close to it. The back part of the frame was completely gone and the trailing edge of both leaf springs was pointing skywards through the perforated bed. I figured that someone parked it and it just collapsed, but when I left, it was gone. Someone was actually driving that piece of shit. The front bolt for each leaf spring was the only thing keeping the differential connected to what was left of the frame. Yikes!

It's always funny crossing the border into Michigan (from Ontario) and seeing the shit-heaps that people are allowed to drive. I know the economy of Michigan is bad, but goddamn. Cars held together by tape, windows made of cardboard. Get it together!

I guess no vehicle safety inspections in either IN or MI???

That's one thing I have to say for the emission and safety inspections required here - it sure keeps a bunch of the shit off the road.

I don't want anybody telling me what I can and can't drive. (unless it's going to kill everyone on a highway, like that truck in the op)

Yupperdoodles!

A few years back I gassed up and grabbed two cases of Natty Light. Got the ol' girl back on the road and eased 'er up to 45 mph. Her backside started to jiggle, then she started to wiggle. Then fucking BOOM!

Rear suspension went up inside the trunk and leaf springs hit the pavement. In a hellfire of molten metal and burning tires I eased her sloppy bottom into the ditch while my chest pressed against the steering wheel. Then the engine exploded and blew the hood clean off the car.
