Well, many of you know I took off a bunch of weight about 10 years ago. Some was through extreme dieting and not the healthiest way. Ultimately adopted a very healthy eating and gym routine but being excessively overweight for decades left what was "under the shirt" a colossal shit show. lots of extra skin on my abdomen/gunt area as well as chest, etc.
Finally made the move to get it removed. On day 8 post op. Went well and the pain isn't nearly as bad as I anticipated. Constipation from the pain meds sucks but using some tea to help with that. Won't be able to work out for like 12 weeks, at least not any sort of lifting. I walk on my own but am using a walker as well. Had 3 drains coming out of my abdomen. Got one removed 3 days ago. The other 2 should come out this week. Still pretty swollen. They say within the first 3-6 month the bulk of the swelling will go down and at about 12 months is where you fully settle.
One thing my doc does is stitch your ab muscles back in place since apparently as your innards expand due to stomach growth/weight gain, the abs separate and spread apart. They also have to cut you a new belly button. I asked if I could opt out, but he wouldn't do it! LOL
I had no allusions of looking ripped after surgery, just didn't;t want to look the way I did any longer.
