Everything else just feels like work, fuck all that noise.

Shave store pull, grabbed B&M Eventide soap, Roam AS and dude chucked in a Catie’s Bubbles Sunset, which I’m not sure about.

Not really a lavender guy, but he said he couldn’t give it away....it’s pretty hard so might have been there for a minute.

Also Gene, they have one bottle of the Hallows EdT still there....dude said he can’t give that one away either lol

He wants $45 for it, I bailed. I’ll hit him next week and see if he’ll come down more, the bottle is fucking cool.

I'll tell him I want at least 10% off, plus the 10% for my MM Mancard. I'd pay $30 for it, it smells great and way more complex than the Hallows soap.

Dude straight up told me it's been sitting there since February......along with the other 8 tubs of Hallows you and I didn't buy...

I told you I got 40% off last time right? Dude gave me 20% off tonight plus the 10% for my MM Mancard this time....Eventide soap and Roam for $30...

Test lather on Catie’s Bubbles Sunset.

This stuff is ass.

Weak lather, lame scent, just nope.

This was free and belongs free. It goes in the trash unless anyone in this thread wants it.

Nothing but awesome. I smell like old money that just bought a dude ranch at Christmas. I smell great.

Awesome shave too....Timeless killing it, B&M my new favorite (in case you couldn't tell) bigass Maggard's brush made a shit ton of lather.

10/10, couldn't have gone better.

Stein, where do you rank hallows soap amongst all barrister and Mann?

I used it today. It was great. Still deciding if it smells like peanut butter Parfum.

Btw the hallows edt was like $50 street price. Still not sure I need it though since I really like my Fougère gothique for that vibe.

It’s probably near bottom of the list for me scent-wise....I like almost all my other stuff better but it’s a unique vibe for sure. I like the EdT a lot more; seems like to me the soaps are the weakest and least complex scents, the AS’s take it up quite a bit and the EdT/EdPs are just explosive as far as complexity.

I dig it, just not as much as their other stuff. I’ve used it maybe 3-4 times and it performs great, just not my favorite scent from them. I’ll still use it and enjoy it.

Can agree with most of that, I’m not a fan of either Russe or Lavanille tho.

I’d kick Nocturne way up there for me, it’s weird as fuck and I love it. The splash is fuckin awesome.

Eventide is up there for me too, not as good as Promises or Vespers.

I’d put Adagio into the Meh category.

I used 42 tonight, and I must say: It’s a much better aftershave than I had expected. I still love Diamond and Classic best, but since they only make Diamond in May, I have to ration it. I’m still trying to figure out how to fly with a small amount of this, for when I have to shave in Orlando, and there is no chance in Hell that I’m going to buy any aftershave at MSP, or worse, at Disney World.

Right? That one from DG, the Sni Mato I PIFd at ya; dude that smelled like plastic to me.

I think Nocturne smells just like a campfire, it weirds me out that it’s in a bottle.

Dig it though, one of the coolest things to me about B&M is even though they might smell weird as fuck they all shave incredibly well.

I could seriously get rid of everything else except the Kraken one and just use that and B&M for all the rest of my shaves.

It's similar to the way some people think cilantro tastes like soap.... poor bastards.

Bay Rum is my all time favorite scent... everything else pales in comparison.
Still, too much of the same gets played out so, we buy more shit in the hopes of finding something better.

I like Adagio. I'm not terribly fond of the spice notes in it - for me that particular spice scent is very biting.
However, it's got a totally awesome freeze especially, when followed by peppermint balm.

I still can't believe I've grown accoustom to Phoenix Vetiver Planet!

I  this thread!

I was an electric shaver since starting to shave. A few years ago, on a Fathers Day weekend,
I found The Art of Shaving in the mall we were in. I new it was time for a change. I could remember
watching my Dad shave with the old soap cup and accessories. I didn't dive in too deep, a pretty simple Muhle R106.
It's fine. Could use a longer handle and a bit more grip, but does the job. I hope it's universal knowledge
that The Art of Shaving is horribly over-priced. I picked up a few other things on Amazon.
Got some Feather razors to replace the Gillette's. Anyway, carry on, I'm enjoying the pics and learning more as I go.

Right on Prelude670!!!! :rawk:
The Art of Shaving is definitely overpriced but, I think their Sandlewood aftershave balm is the bomb!!! Best Sandlewood AS ever.

You're doing it the right way... one razor, keep it simple and save money. :thu:

prelude, You need to buy more shit!

Actually, I can send you a care package so you can try some new stuff. PM me your address.

BTW, Looks like I missed a day on here.

Saturday, SOTD:
Image
Everything went great. Didn't realize how freakin cold that Oleo Providence aftershave would be. Menthol Blast.
Blackbird was killer. The verdict is still out on the Hallows scent. However, I am coining the hastag #glissantgang
9/10. Aftershave didn't have any staying power, even though it smelled really good. Almost too cold.

Monday SOTD:
F-ING PERFECT:
Image

Soap Commander Vision is so good. If you load like you hate it, the scent opens up further with the amber notes on top of the mint. Just incredible performance.

I was ready to tackle the Dart again today. It was awesome. I went a full week letting the cut heal. There is still a scab there.

So, I used my Phoenix AA Paco aftershave sample. Pretty awesome. SPicy. Smells like some cream my Mom used to wear. I think the PAA aftershaves are a hidden gem, even though I think their soap sucks.

10/10.

Honestly, the sales fella at AOS squirted exactly that stuff in my hand on my first visit.
It's amazing stuff! I've tried a few other brands of it, and they all have this wet ash tray smell in comparison.
Not horrible, but definitely brings wet ash to mind.
