My boss wants me to sit in on an interview for a CNC Operator position (I’m the programmer). Can you think of any questions I should ask?

If you're sitting in along with your boss, he's probably going to ask the general employment questions himself and wants you to ask the more specific task-related/technical questions.
So from a programmer standpoint what are the qualities you need on a good operator? I'm not a CNC guy so I don't know, but my suggestion is focus on technical aspects and don't worry about the "are you a team player" or "where do you see yourself in 5 years" usual job interview BS as your boss will handle those.

Ask them about their worst operational mistake(s) and how the fixed/recitified it. If they are honest, resourceful and professional, you can learn a lot from their answer. If they tell you they are perfect or have never made a mistake, they are full of shit.

My favorite interview question is "tell me about the one achievement in your career that you are most proud of". You can instantly detect a bullshitter, it forces the applicant to use a real life scenario and not rely on "yes I have experience with X", and if they can't instantly recall a proud moment, you don't want them working for you.

I've interviewed probably 100 guys for technical positions over my career.
I've been surprised at how well some can bullshit well enough verbally on the technical side just using phrases and buzzwords. If you're going to ask technical questions I recommend getting into the weeds with them.
Ideal candidates will be able to hang well but also show what they don't know once you get there. This is a sign of someone who is both knowledgable enough and humble enough to know where their current abilities are.
That said its even better if you can put them in front of something and have them program it.
For my field that usually means me setting them up with a laptop with the software we use and a base program something simple. I just give them a guideline of what needs to happen at the end and leave them be.
This removes the stress of being watched and once they're done will give you a clear picture of their abilities and perspective.
