I prefer a straight tip. But either way, those things are invaluable. Years ago, a friend had several Weller stations that were self feeding. I used them a bunch.
12 years on, it's still a struggle not having one.

A straight tip with a closer feed tube would be nice. It's not the best thing for tight spots but, pretty cool for many situations where you need a free hand.
