Auto Extended Warranties

Post by Pepi »

Any of you guys buy an extended warranty for you car? So many scammers out there doing these. My 2015 Sienna is running out of warranty and I would like to get something that would help if I need repairs.

There might be other situations that justify it, but extended warranties are costly and I don't think I would consider it unless I was forced to buy a high-mileage used vehicle - or sensed a major repair brewing for a vehicle I already owned. If you think you might lose the engine or transmission, a warranty might be justified. For anything else. probably not. Look up common repairs and repair costs for that vehicle and toss back an emergency fund to cover whatever you think is most likely. You'd probably be money ahead...

Nah man... Just stay on top of regular maintenance and you will be fine...

I just drove 3500 miles on a 2003/125k miles vehicle pulling a trailer with absolutely zero issues because I am always on top of it.

Self warranty. Pay whatever monthly it would be into an imaginary account in your head. Then spend that money on guitar gear.
