I watched that Kitchen Nightmares episode. Assuming it's basically real, which is a big assumption, it appears that woman has been indulged her entire life and has never been told no, nor never held accountable. The guy says he was a "rich playboy" before he married her. Seems like he has a very weak personality and she came in and helped herself to his money and walks all over him, and because of his insecurities, he's afraid to stand up to her. They're an extremely dysfunctional couple, and she's completely removed from any kind of reality.
