NYT Times Article

Post by IndyWS6 »

This should get interesting. It shouldn't surprise anyone (but it will...). It should change some people's minds (but it won't...).

Rich people finding creative ways to stay rich and avoid the inconvenience of taxes while lying about their self-made wealth. A story as old as time...

Trump is the stereotypical American story of a guy that was born on third, claims to have been born on first, spends the whole game trying to run back to second, but the umpire refuses to call it and he winds up stealing home because both teams were looking the wrong way.

Trump lost $8 billion in Atlantic City. He was able to inherit $413 million from his father, because his family devalued the buildings by 85% and he and his sibling paid $50 million in inheritance tax, instead of the $550 million that they really owed. And then he has the nerve to give speeches saying the estate tax is too high and then lowers it for the super wealthy. All hail the Con Man and Tax Cheat in Chief.

There is no statute of limitation on civil penalties for evading State and Local taxes. I believe that all of Donald and Fred Trump's taxes will come out eventually. Let us hope the State of New York does their job and collects the back money owed.

Also, Elizabeth Trump Grau should immediately step down from the bench for committing the now documented hundreds of felonies of tax evasion.

Also, last night I realized why so many people in Mississippi don't believe in evolution. It would seem that the people chanting "lock her up" about Christine Blasey Ford, have their feet firmly rooted in the 1830's.

If I only have one day to live, I'm going to Mississippi. I will go back in time and that day will feel like an eternity.

Seriously though, I'm really worried that Donald Trump Jr's sons won't be able to grab women by the pussy.

the hundreds of millions daddy gave him were not enough. trump tried to change his dad's will as he was dying to help with his 6 bankruptcies and 9 billion in failed casino losses. how the fuck do you bankrupt a casino? how do you go behind your dads back after he has given you hundreds of millions and bailed you out countless times and try to steal more from him as he his dying?

how do you vote for or support someone like this? he was handed millions and lost it over and over again. he has stolen from our country by purposely committing fraud and avoiding paying taxes.

our govt subsidies paid to help his dad build the low income housing that made their fortune.

Supposedly Eisenhower had a meltdown in the Oval Office when he found out how much money Fred Trump was making off of the federal money for post-WWII veteran housing.

I'll tell you how trump lost money on the Taj Mahal. He borrowed $675 million in junk bonds with a 14% interest rate to finance the remaining construction of the casino when he bought it from Resorts International. The casino opened in 1990. One year later, in 1991 he had to renegotiate. He was able to lower the interest rate, but the length of repayment was increased. This led to him owing $1.2 billion. He also had to give up 50% of his ownership at this time. The casino needed to make $1 million per day to break even. It made about $350,000 per day.

No one (of his supporters) cares.
They literally care about nothing he's done before or anything he does now so long as he's furthering their specific agenda.

Its really amazing how many things that would have tanked anyone else only further his support because the view that he's being persecuted.

For what its worth, maybe this is a good thing.
We can stop caring if someone smoked weed or did coke before when performance is what actually matters.

I read as much of that as I could considering the limited resources I have available to me from my running-on-empty fucks tank.

I really don't know what to say. I didn't feel like I was reading news. All of that was really obvious with or without the details that were revealed from the investigation. I guess what I have are thoughts.

1) Trump supporters who didn't factor in that he's a conman probably don't read, let alone read NYT. They will do the ostrich shuffle, morally equate, and double down.

2) Trump supporters who did factor all of this in don't care and voted for Trump for other reasons, many of which are perfectly rational.

3) People who swear that all of this matters (BUT IT REALLY MATTERS!!! :scream: ) have hated Trump since day 1. They care a lot and yet the fact that they care changes absolutely nothing.

4) Information like this has an estimated 2.27% chance of changing a single vote.

5) Everyone devalues their real estate holdings as much as possible. You're stupid if you don't. When you have a real estate empire then the numbers are much larger than Jack and Dianne's filings from their American kids 3 bedroom home in the heartland outside the tasty freeze.

6) A 55% tax on inheritance and gifts is the kind of shit that turned Boston Harbor into Lipton Bay. I don't agree with it fundamentally and don't hold it against anybody for securing their earned/stolen wealth for the future of their lineage.

7) I'm terrified of what will happen in November. Everything and everyone (aside from the thinking minority, some of which hang out at GAB) is stupid. Rational bases for decision making have disintegrated across the board. Both poles are tapping into the reptilian sides of our brain and driving their voter base on purely emotional impetus. As a country we're about to make a slew of stupid ass choices based on blue v. red tribalism and as a result we will get THE WORST democratic representatives and THE WORST republican representatives.
