Recording my amp with an UX2 ?

Post by Rory2000 »

Hi everybody,

I’d like to recording when I’m playing guitar (to get the sound of my amp), with :
an audio interface
a mic
and a software

I’d like to do it with the Line 6 Pod Studio UX2, is it a good choice for that

Thanks by advance for your advices.

It's possible but, why the UX2? do you have one already? because if you don't and are looking to buy an interface there areally better 9nes on the market.

Yes, I'm looking to buy an audio interface.
Does the Mackie Onyx Blackjack or Focusrite Scarlett 2I4 v2 are better ? or another one ?

The Focusrite seem to be the best bang for your buck in the quality department.... if you want to spend a little more money the Apogee One probably has the best digital to analog converters out of all of them...

Both the Blackjack and Scarlett get a lot of love. I personally rock a Blackjack and it's fantastic for what I need it do. Plus I got it used for $70 so that helped.

The Line 6 UX units are cool but they are quite outdated now. If I were you I'd look in to Focusrite and Tascam units in particular. Great values

You can get a Focusrite solo for about $100 if you need more, the 2i4, both second generation, great deals on reverb with Proaudiostar.
Some guys like a challenge. Not me.

You can get a good deal on a converter/mic/DAW software bundle.
Last time I checked, Focusrite had a decent bundle for about $200.00.

Checked again and they still offer it: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... arlett-2i4

I don't see a mic in that bundle, or am I missing it?

For interfaces, I'm baised towards Presonus, the ones with their XMAX preamps. Just the best sounding preamps for the money IMHO.
