Yes. I get tired of all genres of music, after a while: I haven't been able to listen to a new rap album in three years.

I've been taking to driving in silence, or listening to podcasts. I just can't find the right frame of mind to listen to Welcome to Night Vale, either.

Honestly, not really.

Despite the majority of clips I post, I also listen to and write in different styles. I don't always have to listen to metal, but it's for sure the style I listen to most. And the metal I listen to is essentially an adrenaline boost for me. I definitely feel the energy.. Hard to get tired of that..

I grow weary of any music genre that doesn't have dynamics. If it sounds like a washing machine or a bad car muffler I usually turn it off. About 4 mins of the same tempo and level is the threshold of boredom for most humans.

Rap is fucking horrible right now. As always there is underground shit that's great... but ho, ly, fuck. My wife put on a Spotify playlist of some mid to late 90's rap and gatdamn if I thought it was kinda lame then is it a million times better than the shit the kids are listening to now.

My sons are getting into rap. I'm keeping them on a better path. Sure they're impressed by Eminem so I roll my eyes a little, but at least earlier Eminem is some seriously highly skilled rhyming if nothing more than for the sake of hearing very technical ways of word play. They are also really liking Busta Rhymes, which is also acceptable. Trying to keep them plugged into the more hip hop side of things.

Gonna have to make beats with them and show them how shit is done.

I don't listen to metal a whole lot but never get tired of playing it. What I do listen to is a lot of the Rolling Stones material from the 70-81 era as well as Steely Dan, Depeche Mode and Gary Numan. For newer non-metal stuff I've been checking out Foxy Shazam.

To answer the thread, I will get tired of metal faster than nearly any other genre of "rock and roll" and heavier. However I will tolerate it longer than Imagine Dragons, or the Lumineers.

i get tired of anything if you play it nonstop. you gotta mix it up, so many good kinds of music out there to settle on one genre.

It’s normal to get fatigued listening to different music types especially if that’s all you listen to. I love me some metal but I don’t listen to as much these days. Hell sometimes I get tired of guitar based music in general and just want to listen to something else. I’ll throw on some classical music or electronic music for a recharge. I have friends who spin house music and I’d go see them every now and again just to hear something different. Or hon SoundCloud and listen to their mixes. And then that usually reinvigorates me to want to hear and play guitar based music again.

No! There are literally so many different types of "metal" music I don't see how it is possible.

I get real bored of it these days.
Honestly at this point I only listen to like 5 metals bands regularly beyond that its only when at the gym that I listen to metal and even that its only like 1 day a week maybe.
I'm mellowing out big time with age and I was already mellow as fuck to begin with.

Metal is great. I love stuff that's so heavy it makes me laugh.

Problem is, it's like hot peppers or some shit. You build up a tolerance and need heavier stuff all the time, and before you know it, you're starting the car to take your kids to school and Infant Annihilator is blasting on the radio when it starts.

That can happen. Wife got in the car with me one time and I had Individual Thought Patterns by Death cued up on my iPhone and the radio was set to kill. Needless to say she wasn't as amused as I was.

Metal in general? Nope. Some metal? Yes. I'm still kind of burnt out on death metal.
