Should I or shouldn't I? DTP with Clutch tour

Post by JiveTurkey »

I dug the the first Clutch but after that; too RAWK for my tastes. Devin Townsend, otoh; I am thinking Clutch is probably still killer live, though, and this tour is coming close-by. Should I go? : :hmm:

I like some of their stuff. What I don't want is them to do is go off on some stoner rock jam band tangent. Not my bag at that point.

I am not a big fan honestly. I saw them in Des Moines a few years ago, but was there to see Orange Goblin. OG killed it. Clutch was pretty good, just never been a fan. Devin live is worth seeing.

I should say that I actually really dig Clutch. But growing up in Louisiana, damn near every local hard rock/metal band is a wannabe Clutch, Crowbar, or Pantera, so I got burned out on that shit years ago

I lived in Dallas Fort worth about 15 years, that whole scene wasTERRIBLE. Every band wanted to be those guys, or like them. Really bad versions. Devin live is something everyone should see, fan or not. Seriously Clutch is pretty boring.

I saw Strapping Young Lad at the height of their powers. No way little old Clutch is going to even come close to holding a candle to that :cop: I am curious how DTP will compare, if we're being honest. That aside; I can always leave if Clutch starts putting me to sleep

SYL City is amazing. That era was insane how good they were.

I've seen both SYL and DTP live.

Completely and totally different types of shows, but yeah.....SYL + Meshuggah at the White Rabbit in San Antonio is the greatest metal show i've ever seen in my life.

When i caught DTP, it was Cynic, Scale the Summit, DTP and Between the Buried and Me. That was also an incredible show

The concept of passing up a Devin Townsend show doesn't even enter my mind.
