Thank goodness they had really good producers. That version while an excellent demo was not Kiss portrayed style. The backup singers sounded like Gene had his nuts in a vice.. LOL

The album version was 100 percent Kiss style music and much better than the demo.

The back up vocals made me laugh for sure.

It always amazes me when these guys want to tell "their side of the story"

yeah even though this is considered Simmons signature song, it was actually written by Paul. The story is Gene was being an arrogant prick to him one day and Paul said, "anyone can write a Gene Simmons song". Gene said prove it. Paul wrote God of Thunder and Gene was like "damn that IS fucking good"
Guitars:

Depends on when you ask. I got tired of constantly updating this section lol

Cabs
Marshall 1960A w V30s/ Seismic 2x12 w Redback and V30.

And Paul really wanted to sing it but Bob Ezrin said, "You're not the god of thunder".

I never heard this version BUT I was listening to the audio book of Paul's and MAN talk about fun to listen to! Paul had some hilarious stuff to say about Gene...

Speaking of Kiss, I'm betting on Ace putting the makeup back on for one last time. Gene and Paul have both been to his shows recently and he just wrote a couple of new songs with Gene. And now it looks like Ace has suddenly dropped about 50 lbs. Maybe trying to fit back in the space suit? I smell a reunion brewing.

That is very likely to happen if you follow the KISS camp closely. Rumors are strong. And it should happen. It's only fair. And I will definitely go :)

Yeah, THIS I will go see, no matter how bad Paul and Gene sound vocally live now...

I have never seen them with Ace.

I know a bunch of metal bands have covered this, including Death.

But I always liked Entombed's version.

Side note - I JUST heard (for the first time), the Stones' version of 2,000 man. I remembered reading on the Dynasty album that Jagger wrote the song, but I thought it was just one he wrote at the time and KISS used it, I never knew it was an actual Rolling Stones song.

If you can get past "I Was Made For Lovin You" (which I actually like), Dynasty was a pretty good album.

Um, yeah it was. Even "I Was Made for Lovin You" is great. Dynasty is one of my favorite Kiss albums. Not afraid to admit it.

It almost seems like Lenny Kravitz took considerable inspiration for Are You Gonna Go My Way from this demo of God of Thunder.
