Nice little Slayer bedtime story

Post by RIFF »

I once..
Ok wait, a little background...
I once bought this Honda civic (weak 4 banger, 4 door family style, metallic brown, stock), brand new, & I dont believe in things that some people do, ya know... but that WAS absolutely my bad luck car. I got my first ticket of several in THAT car, it was hit by cars, roof tiles, large falling business signs, etc.

But I had to have my tunes, so I bought a nice Pioneer stereo, & within a few months, I got my 1st Slayer album, South of Heaven. I really didnt like it. But, after a couple listens, it WOULD NOT EJECT from the CD slot......................................
No really. So well.. too lazy to uninstall it to take it into the place I bought it to have it fixed, I just listened to it for several months straight, before doing so....

Well, at that point; I had begun to actually DIG the album. Welp, they got it out, returned it without the CD, so I had to buy it again eventually.

LAter I learned that Jeff Hanneman lived about a mile from me....
WTF!! :beavis:

You do? Well alright, heres a few I can think of..

1st incident with the bad luck car.. about a week or 2 after we bought it, somebody knocked a couple of dents in the passenger side doors. It was obviously intentional. This is just a fuckin brown 4 door civic, mind you... nothing to be jealous over, & I really didnt have enemies.

Once while parked at work, some guys working on our business signs, had a sign leaned against one of his trucks which had a boom arm. Welp, one of them in another truck passed too close to the front of that truck, knocking into said boom arm, truck rocking sideways, leaning sign slowly tipping till it fell over on my car parked beside it. This was well away from the sign posts. :/

Roof tile... We had a spanish tile roof. Not the soft clay type, but a later modern version. So, I parked the honda up unusually close to the house in the driveway, and come out to see a dent in the hood. With a roof tile laying there. Nobody was banging around, no earthquakes, wind or rain, just fallen tile. No tiles ever fell off the roof but THAT one.

I had gone about 10 yrs without ever getting a ticket, then got my 1st one right at the bottom of the grapevine in that car. After that, the seal was broken, & they were a little more regular..

Was it a bad luck car... or was it a SLAYER car!? Did the slayer disk choose the car, or did the car choose the slayer disk.

Eh. Slayer's always been a band where listening to one song is enough for me. They blur together a bit too much. Definitely my least favorite of the big 4.

I lost a Faith No More CD to a car stereo myself. King for a Day...
